another member here for this club. 1/4. 01 X5 3.0 87000 miles. Front passenger window made clunking noise last weekend and now stop going up when my wife forgot to roll it down. I hope the regulator gave up on us but not the motor. A storm is coming and we have only one car now to commute. she has to be home bounded this weekend with the kids.

Has this problem been experienced by anyone woth a 2005, 2006, 2007, or 2008?

3 out of 4 here. I noticed that once I stopped letting people slam my doors (X doors are very heavy obviously) the regulator replacing stopped. Call me crazy but i swear when the people were slamming the doors I was replacing a regulator every 6 months..and then after I told people to stam slamming them..it stopped. Haven't replaced one in 2 years..

1/4 for me, the rear right side. Motor looks good, a bit weather wear sign the plastic clip for steel belt of the window assembly breaks (why BMW makes this clip from plastic is beyond me, it should be metal clips!).

Zero of 4, as in no regs ever replaced...'01 3.0 with ~68Kmiles.

0 for 4 - 06 4.8is, 22.4k miles. Now that I've said it, I'll probably start seeing them fail. I am feeling really lucky as I've not had any issue with the X since I purchased it just over a year ago with 8.4k miles on it. It's been trouble free.

My prior suv was a MB ML430. What a joke in terms of reliability. It had a long list of problems, JUNK. Should have known better.

The X5 is one of the top 3 vehicles I've ever owned. I'm still going to knock on wood now (like others on this thread) that I've said I'm 0-4 on the window regulators.
