Yes, I modified skid plate to fit with Aero bumper, so it is possible to fit it on 4.6/4.8 bumper.

What color do you paint it(silver or titanium). I have a metallic black x with the titanium grill? It looks like there is only a couple of bolts to attach to the underside is that the case?

my x5 is gunmetal grey, so im really wondering wether i should paint it in silver or color code it to the rest of the car

Can one get a FUNCTIONAL not 'decorative' skip plate? I will need some protection if I hope to get over snow banks across my driveway left by the snowplows. These can be up to a foot and a half high. I don't enjoy having to get out of the car in -40 weather... I used to just drive over them in my Explorer.

you should go for the underride guard ... it is extended to cover the whole engine ... almost until the area below the front seats ... check mine below
