yes 540's with more then 165k but on a x5 its different and theres so much more stress on engine..So much more things can break too..

I can't wait to get to that mileage with my 3.0. It makes me sleep better at night knowing that 3.0s get that high of a mileage if taken cared of.

I am at 228,048 miles. I was having some engine problems for a while, I was getting P1083,P1085,p0171,P0174 codes. I replaced my mass air sensor today and now it runs like a BMW again. So its back to the races!

wouldn't there be less stress on the 4.4 considering the limited use of throttle to get this beast moving? Isn't that why they also get slightly better gas mileage than the 3.0's?

is it just me ... why are people surprised a BMW can get to high mileage? should be able to with proper routine and preventative maintenance.

my 318ti is still on the original clutch, trans, engine @ 237k miles and i haven't touched any of them other than doing fluid changes.

I guess with all of the issues you hear on here with the X5, some are skeptical that it will give them long-term service.

With that said, I spent around $12K last year to keep this thing going, but my intentions are to keep it for quite awhile longer.
