For sure some of the kits are crappy but also they only address some of the problems with the poorly designed folding motors/mechanism. The looseness if the cone portion, tiny lock pins, the heavy fit of the manual release, the small size of the ring gear teeth, don't get fixed with the kit even if it's a quality one.

Nice!! What I need are new microswitches. So far no source available.

One review on the mirror kit.
"Dont buy its not fit both of X5 and Jeep and can not refund because shipping take time too long"

The microswitch problem is why I ended up buying a used unit off Ebay. I found a microswitch vendor, Chinese of course, it was $50 for one plus shipping and I couldn't tell for sure if it would work. I think the best fix for the microswitch is to drill through where the little plastic "pins" are that hold the lever and install a metal pin. I don't think the internals on the switch go bad.

I agree. Mine have the metal lever that goes out of position. I did get them to work for a bit. I may go back and try to fix them again.

I don't know if these work, yet. But I think they are the same switches. It's been a while since I bought them and don't recall the source. I will have to go looking.

Yes again, the micro switch itself is pretty reliable, just fix/replace the original levers.
