Ok now I am confused since some of our 05 4.8is's are clear and some are red, for those of you who's are WHITE, what month in 05 were yours built?

What's your build date?

Also, on the homepage article "How to Tell Which Options You Have on Your X5 (All E53 Years)"

Says:
-White Third Brake Light (2003; 2004-2006 3.0i/4.4i standard; 2003-2005 4.6is/4.8is standard)

-White Third Brake Light available from 2003-2006

-Red Third Brake Light available from 2000-2002, select 2004-2006 3.0i, and 2006 4.8is

Something's not right.:dunno:

I have a 06 4.4i sport with clear. Build date 4/05

Wouldn't that be an 05? not an 06?

So basically the conclusion so far is that it seems to be completely random as to who has Red and who has White... I am really hoping someone who knows what the deal is can shed some light on this or we can figure it out!

mine is clear 03 4.4 , but tintet it ,,, Black:D
