Heavy keys are bad for any ignition. It might not break today but it's most likely to cause you trouble later.

This is very true - in fact I cut my key in half just to make sure it wouldn't mess up my ignition!!!

Not exactly a janitor's key chain, but I've not had a problem with this key ring's "weight" in 7+ years of the X or, 6+ years of the Vette.
