Heavy keys are bad for any ignition. It might not break today but it's most likely to cause you trouble later.

This is very true - in fact I cut my key in half just to make sure it wouldn't mess up my ignition!!!

3 car keys, the flipper for the Honda CR-V pos, two house keys
and a garage key. Not exactly a janitor's key chain, but I've not
had a problem with this key ring's "weight" in 7+ years of the X or,
6+ years of the Vette. I suppose a 30 key ring might have an effect
but it sounds like "something to worry about" that I don't need to...:D

If it wasn't an issue i'd definitely have that key chain on...but unfortunately I keep it light
