Well.. it is with great regret that I inform my fellow board members that the X5 is now a write off.

R.I.P. Shanequa II 09-2001 - 01-2009.
She lived a spirited live. Near the end, she had some plastic surgery done and put on a show every where she went. She will be missed by her family. She served them well in the 3 years she was with them.

Yup.. so its a total loss people. I couldnt believe it but the cost of BM parts and labour did her in. So now i have to decide who her successor will be. I half joked earlier.. but it seems like i will be getting a new car. Stay tuned.. might be an e70 (anyone know what the leases go for? or what i should expect to pay for a CPO in the lower ranges?). maybe i'll start a new thread.

I'm keeping options open. Nissan Armada, Infiniti Qx54, e70, Range Rover, Yukon, Tahoe - as you can see its going to be an SUV. Any personal experiences are welcome.

I'm going to go take out the sirius which i just got renewed!! and the 20" wheels and tires and replace them with some 17" or something.

Totaled? jeez...It doesn't look totaled... Your insurance won't cover this? That sucks man..

TwinsPoppa 01-16-2009 02:57 PM

Man that sucks! :(

On the other hand ... I don't see why an e53 4.6/4.8is is outta the pic! :D

I'm biased but hey ... you already know how good the X is!

And depending on what you're gonna do with the car ... you can even re-use some parts!;)

Is there some frame damage or something we really can't see.....this brings the question....what did they say your X is worth? I'm not a insurance adjuster but don't the repairs have to be more than the stated value for them to declare it a total loss?........Phil

RichiRich 01-16-2009 03:32 PM

Yeah ..Rasta ..I am confused..it looked like you needed a new front end.....quick lil facelift if you will...

I will tell you this....

you could sell all those mods and ...I know peeps here will scoop them up...after all that modding! ugggh!

Man I really thought i'd get to see her this spring!

Damn!

The repairs just have to be up to a certain percentage of the value for them to call it a loss.

Sorry to hear that Shanequa II had her final ride. :saad:

Dibs on the running boards if they are OEM! And maybe even the CF Pilars!

I think you have the right to purchase the car from the insurance company.

Considering all the mods, you should probably do that and part it out.

If you want another SUV I would look at 05 & 06 X5 4.4 & 4.8.

I love my new e61, it will outrun almost any X5.

I think so too.

In looking at the pictures it's hard to believe. There is so much left of it that is not just undamaged, but like, near mint.

I wonder what they would offer it to you for?
