The 2001 X5's had an AWD system that split power 40/60 right?

Would the xdrive system in the '04+ have fared better in this situation?

When it come to deal with ICE deosn't matter you have 4WD , Xdrive or 8WD

Rasta noticed a slow down and accelerated. The xdrive system would have noticed front wheel slippage and diverted power to the rear. The old system would have him accelerating in ice and spin out.

All this is under the assumption that it was only a patch of ice and the whole road wasn't a sheet of ice.

Sorry for your loss, that totally sucks :( Hopefully the payoff is good and very glad that you're (mostly) ok.

Rasta, so sorry to hear about Shanequa. She was beautiful. I'll share with the community about how I met her. I was out in Long Island with a friend and my friend was driving my X. I noticed Shanequa from 1/2 block away going in the opposite direction and noticed almost every detail in about 5 seconds. There was alot to behold but the mods were tastefully executed
and Shanequa was immediately recognizable by her silver "eyeshadow" and matching "shoes". Sorry to hear about the finality/totality of the situation.

Check my thread. Maybe my sensible shoes can help someone prevent the same fate. We had about 1.5" of snow this morning as I made my way home from work and I couldnt even invoke a skid.

Hey thanks man. Nice looking X! My mod list is on my X page. I tried to post as much pics as possible.

Well i went to a dealership and saw a beatufiul 2005 LeMans Blue 4.8is with 17k. FUlly loaded. Only thing it doesnt have is the navigation - which to be honest - i love my Garmin lol. Price is 32k. Thoughts?
