It has become a habit for me to go over 400 miles due mostly to highway driving...trying to achieve that keeps me at and under the speed limit...but there are nights when the highways are all empty especially I271...so yeah thats the exception :D

I get about 1000Km (625 miles) with a SUPER full tank of DIESEL!!! (most of them - 90% - driven on Highways, with 120-140Km/hr)

I'm averaging about 18mpg so I typically get 400+ miles out of a tank. Most of the driving is around town but with minimal traffic. On highway road trips at around 80mph, it'll go about 450-460 on a tank. My best tank was 556 mi from Limon, CO to Evanston, WY (I70-I25-I80). I filled up with 23.81 gal. BTW, I'm driving a 2005 4.4i.

NYC Driving doesn't count as driving. That crap you measure in Gallons/Hour you spend idling. When I go to NYC, the only driving I do is to the Darien MetroNorth station, and then somehow, I always manage to walk from GC to soho when its 140º outside. |

as far as those complaining about the mountains, I typically get 18-20mpg over the Rockies, depending upon which route I take from Idaho Falls, ID to Rock Springs, WY |
HI!
I have e53 X5 -04 3.0d and the best result i have gotten from one tank of gas is 1200km (750miles). That time I was driving only on small higways at the avragespeed of 80 - 90 km/h ( 53 mph) I had 235/65 17" friction tyres. Usually I get about 800 to 900 km (530 miles) with mixed driving in suburban area. |
500 km. on my '05 4.4
18.5 L/100 km. I miss my diesel Mercedes :( |
