How many miles do you get on a full tank?

Hi guys,
I know we all drive differently and our driving styles change with our moods, however I was wondering on average how many miles you get from a full tank down to say 30 miles left on your fuel warner?
I drive a 4.4 and most of the time drive with a "heavy foot", I guess I get between 400 and 430 miles on highway driving at an average speed of 80-90mph.
We can all look at the BMW mpg values but I'm looking for tank figures - cant seem to find anything on the web.

I'm particularly interested in diesel stats as my X5 is up for replacement in April and need to look around.

Thanks

I've had 510 miles on my 3.0 with mostly highway driving. Much less around the city.

butundo, Is that a diesel or petrol (gas) engine?

:iagree: ...my best is 508 with "21" left, as I pulled in for gas.
Not diesel, and it's a puny 3.0, but 5 speed manual so I endure
very high highway cruise speed RPMS.
I know this pic is repost...just fyi.
BR,mD

Edit...I knew I had done way better than that so I dug up the pic of our
Best Ever mpg from a trip last June: the Mtns to NJ to see the kids.
No A/C on most of the way, (it was quite cloudy & cool), never got over
80, etc. NEway, 568 on a fookin tank!

Thanks...we were sort of trying hard, for once...usually we haul azz
and do 80-85 on that run from NC to NJ, but that trip the VA Nazis
were out in full force, we didn't have to "be there" for dinner, the
a/c was unnecessary, etc. The hard part is that our revs at 75/80
are serious azz rpms due to the lack of OD in our old 5 speed manual
trans...but, I was proud and surprised, as that mark eclipsed our
old "best" by 60 miles.

If I could keep my fat right foot out of it, I might get better than the 340 miles per tank I'm getting now :D

I only do slightly better than half of that :tsk: I'm probably in the low 300s. I consistantly get 12.9 per gallon. My drive is mostly city and rush hour highway with a heavy foot.
