Help identify dash indicator

Anyone know what this is? I've noticed it in a photo and have never seen it before in a manual or otherwise.

adaptive cruise control. it has been a european only option since e38. usa option since e65 intro

Are you certain? The picture is from an E53 X5.

It is indeed the active cruise control light. Here is a demo on youtube.

I do have this light on my x53 dashboard too although it is unsused as I do not have the active cruise control

That is completely bizarre that X5's would have the indicator and not the functionality. Isn't it odd that no X5 manual at least shows the indicator and instead shows something else in its place. Completely weird.
