no go, i actually had someone helped me there's a way to remove the BMW connections and rearrange them so it'll work, and still nothing. Pretty sure the lights are defective.

I noticed something that was mentioned earlier in this thread. the number 4 port of my OEM BMW connections are left empty but with these aftermarket lights there are pins in 2,3,4,5. How do I fix this? Can you just pull out the pin and move it to a different port?

what i did to solve my corroded pin problem was to replace the male & female connectors with any coupling connectors in the market. the key thing is to make sure that the new connector come with same thickness or thicker copper conductors. apart from this criteria, any type will do. then i used a pocket multimeter to test which pin in the male socket goes to which aluminium conductor on the lights. this way, when i replaced the connectors and solder the new male pin socket onto my old lights, i can be sure that i dont make any wrong connection. thereafter, i match the new female connector to the original. you will find this hard to follow if you are not familiar with using a multimeter. sorry. :( after that, my lights are as bright as new. the bulbs see full voltage.

yes i think one of the female socket has no connection even though there is a pin in the male socket or was it vice versa? can't recall. anyway, you will need to match the male pins on the original light to the aftermarket one to know whether the pin positions are correct or not.

hope this helps.

thanks man. i'm pretty sure these lights are defective I swapped the male pins and still nothing. i even tested the lights directly off a battery and the parking lights still didn't work. i'm going to return them and try and buy a set elsewhere.

just thought i'd give everyone an update. I got a new set of LED tails from umnitza. Paid a little more for the exact same thing, but after moving the wiring around the lights work! Only issue now is the pulsing that's been described above. I'm going to take a ride to lightwerkz asap and have him install that relay for me. Great pricing and communication on his part, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed that it'll work and everything will finally be good!

before you installed the capacitor did you continue to get the check tail lights error message on your dash because of the pulsing? just curious if the capacitor will fix this issue i hate warning lights.

yes capacitor should fix all issues for led tail lights.
i never tried without capacitors cus i didn't want any issues with my tail lights so i put the capacitor on the tail lights before i installed them on my truck.
They are not spacial type of capacitors you can pick them up from radio shock or any electronic shop for less then $1 i found this out after paying $40 US. i will try to post pictures and part # to help ppl with this issue.

So I visited Lightwerkz today and the owner was kind enough to install my capacitors for me. Finally everything works! No error codes, no flickers, just bright, gorgeous LED tails. Thanks again Lightwerkz!
