My X is going to look so cool!
 

Just wanted to let everyone know that I got my first 2 mods put on my X. I got a skid plate on the front, and a wind deflector. The skid plate looks so cool and the wind deflector draws air into the car that you can get great air and keep the windows closed and it is pretty quiet.

This week is a big week because my running boards that I ordered from Ebay came and they are in my garage and I also bought 18 in wheels from ebay that will be here this week. I get the stuff put on Monday. I will post pics when done. I really wanted larger rims but I don't want to deal with changing them for snowtime. But I do love that look.

congrats man...i really have been thinking of getting a skid plate. how much did u pay and did u install it yourself?

how much and where did you get your skid plate from?

I got mine for $180+tax already painted Titanium Silver from a BMW dealer. I did the install myself.:popcorn:

do they have more already painted for that price?

On "getbmwparts.com" the skid plate is $ 175.00 and then I had to take it to a body shop and pay them $ 125.00 to paint it and put it on. I am a thirty-something year old female who is handy but not handy enough to put the skid plate on myself. I watched the body shop guy do it, it took 10 minutes, he took the 4 screws out of the bottom of the bumper, wiped the bumper off, peeled the 2-sided tape off and then put the 4 screws back in the bottom and then there are 3 screws on the top that he got from inside, it did not come with these screws. It is a big piece of plastic but when it is on, it totally changed the look of the front, I just love it! When I see an X5 without it I think it looks plain.

If so, looks great - haven't seen it on any X5s in the UK.

Do you know if it will fit a 4.8is?

Here you go mate...........the guy will ship to the UK for $80. I was going to get one sent over myself but it's a little on the pricey side for me.
