What would I drive if I didn't have an X5?
 

A Jaguar...I owned 2 before purchasing the X5.

Welcome to the board. What Jag did you own and did you have any reliability issues with them? I always loved Jaguars but was always reticent to buy one due to the bad reputation they had

We just traded our Mercedes M class in for an X5. In our search we tested the Tuareg, the new M Class, the Porsche Cayenne, Lexus RX400 Hybrid.

Liked the Tuareg. Didn't like the new M Class - very plasticky inside. Couldn't afford the Cayenne we'd want - the Turbo version :) . The Lexus was ok, but the X5 just blew it away. :) :)

But to answer the question - Lexus RX400 Hybrid.

My wife replaced the X5 with an S4 Avant 1.5 years ago.. great car but horrible gas guzzler..gets like 12 miles a gallon around town with under 200miles per tank.. pretty sad.. I currently have a E39 M5, and yamaha R6 for fun but am shopping for a 360 modena ( 01 or 02 6spd) or a 04 Gallardo.. Looked at and test drove an AMV8 but a little disappointed in the power. Nevertheless, very reasonably priced and an awesome looking car.

I´d love to have the same problem :D :D :D
