Night and day, Sam. I think this is also mostly to blame on the terrible maintenance that the 3.0i had received prior to my ownership. Like I said, I just wanted a car to drive with during the winter but ended up totally falling in love with the E53 model. Even though the suspension was in horrible shape (I got it fixed eventually), the engine never missed a beat while it was nearing 400k. I do definitely notice that the 4.6is has a lot more precise and sporty steering and handling compared to my old 3.0i, but it's hard to say if it's to blame on the suspension.

As for compared to the E30... The E53 in general is a very luxurious experience. The E30 was very luxurious for its time back in 1984, with OEM cruisecontrol/airconditioning/electric windows, etc. But the E53 is truly something else, it just feels, drives and handles like a brand new car.

Hello Forum Friends...

Anyone in the HOUSTON Area? I am considering the purchase of a 4.6is and am hoping for a fellow enthusiast to check it out for me. I am located in AZ and won't be able to make it out there anytime soon to check it out for myself.

It is a used bmw dealer in Houston. Due to their policy, they won't take it to an indy shop for a PPI. They provided me a "lemonsquad" link which is a third party that will come to the car for an inspection which isn't terrible, but these cars have some quirks that only a BMW shop would really know...

So if there is someone with a little free time and wants to check out a cool car and let me know their opinion... I would greatly appreciate that and potentially include a helper fee if required.

If it is I could potentially drop by just to have a quick lookthrough. Is this the LeMans blue 4.6iS at Bemer Motorcars? They are usually pretty good about not selling garbage. It is kind of odd to me that any dealer wouldn't allow an outside PPI.

I am familiar with them too, and second that. They typically have decent examples as I would consider them an "enthusiast" BMW dealership. Have looked at 2 or 3 vehicles there in the past.

Hi All, looking for the front bumper valence with the "ears". When I bought my 4.6 2 years ago, someone sent me a link to one made in Latvia. I purchased it and it isn't even close to fitting properly. I have seen quite a few 4.6 being parted lately, but can't find that piece. Any help would be appreciated.

I know for a fact there are at least 2 4.6 IS being parted in Houston right now check craigslist and offer up, If I can find them I'll post the links.
