Barring anything unforeseen, I should pick mine up on Saturday. VERY excited!
http://www.my02.com/images/4.8is/odvsm.jpg http://www.my02.com/images/4.8is/frontrtvsm.jpg First weekend is removal of all the badges (4.8is, X5). Then I am going to put a polish on this thing that will make a BMW paint booth blush. Finally, I'll seal it with Zaino as I have my other Bimmers. Next weekend is a full interior leather clean and condition. And probably some more Zaino. :D This may seem like a lot, but starting this process and remaining true to it has kept my 98K mile X5 3.0 looking like new. In fact, I got it inspected last year and the lady handed the sheet back saying I'd brought the wrong paper. This is a 2010, she said. Here's to keeping old Bimmers looking new! More to come! |

I called on my first 4.8 in 2009. I remember it was a CPO 2006 with 32K miles. They wanted $41K for it. I offered $37K and they told me to walk. I did. Since then, I found various other examples: $35K for 16K miles in Jan 2011, $36K for 23k miles in December 2010, $38K for 29K miles in the summer of 2009. Either no one would deal or the cars were already sold. By the time my recent milestone birthday arrived, I resigned myself to give up the blue color I wanted. I would be happy with any X5 with low miles and under $35K. So, as I was prone to do, I simply typed X5 4.8is in the Google Chrome browser. A familiar site arrived. My Minnesota and Denver offerings weren't listed any more. But what's this? 11K miles? With a VIN and a City/State? I found that it was at a BMW dealer, but it wasn't actually listed on their site. In fact, when I browsed to the link, the X5 I sought didn't show up. A Google cached page showed that at least 24 hours before, the site had listed the X5 I sought. The links for "I'm interested" worked. I submitted my information late on (this) Sunday night. Impatient, I called the dealer first thing on Monday morning. The Internet sales specialist was impressed at my offer to give her a VIN for her search. She had been away for the week prior and had not yet seen the car. She confirmed it was in stock, the price, and that she would have a sales associate call me back with the details and to do the deal. The sales associate confirmed again that it was there and the price. I asked for a better deal to cover the airfare. He offered me a price I feel is VERY fair based on my years of search and research. While placing a deposit, I SMS'ed a friend and fellow BMW nut who frequently does business in this city though he lives a few hours away. By the time my deposit was down, my sales associate and my friend had each other's contact information and a scheduled visit on Thursday before his afternoon meeting. I generally don't like to talk about details until the deal is done, but I will say that the deal is the lowest price I have ever seen on a 4.8is under 35K miles. It is also the lowest miles I have ever seen on any 4.8 since I have been searching. Having said that, the car is NOT CPO. It is sold AS IS. I have some risk. I will drive it and see if I have the reverse gear delay, the hard downshift, and I will check the oil filler cap for sludge. It's not as good of a deal if I am looking at a huge repair bill very soon. I will fly to pick it up on Saturday. I will have my DSLR in hand. I may even bring dental floss and a small tube of polish to remove the badges right then and there. I made edits to the pictures and cannot WAIT to take off the badges! See below. I will keep you posted. http://www.my02.com/images/4.8is/debadgedsm.jpg http://www.my02.com/images/4.8is/debadgedsidessm.jpg |

Purchased this 2005 4.8is in November, 2010 as our primary family car and daily driver for my wife. 66K miles for $27K. January 05 build, creme beige with comfort seats, poplar wood trim. Came with Dinan strut brace and OEM trailer hitch. Although I thought it was in good shape when I bought it, I wanted to get it as close to new condition as possible. It took six months to get all the "little things" fixed with some not so little fixes needed along the way, too. All OEM parts were used with me doing most of the work. This is our third BMW, second X5, first used BMW.
Repairs so far: Steering wheel trim cover 2 rims repaired for curb rash New tire chock storage bracket Driver's B pillar plastic cover (old one scratched up some by seat belt) Replaced Nav screen (old one had streak of bad pixels) Driver's window regulator (of course) Driver's rear view mirror frame - loose due to crack Rear lower tailgate cover (old one cracked) BMW logo wheel caps (big improvement) Instrument panel clear plastic (old one had a 1 inch crack; not an easy project) Main interior light (old one fogging up) Re-dyed steering wheel leather (big improvement) Re-dyed minor driver's seat abrasions (looks perfect) New battery New ignition key Tires-Continental Extreme Contact DWS (finally got the fronts that were on backorder forever) Updated EGS (Transmission) software from 7549958 to 7564921 and DME (Engine) from 7551486 to 7448442 (nice improvement in downshift smoothness) Tweaks: Euro warning triangle with OEM mounting brackets Under-seat first aid kit Replaced ashtray with rubberized storage pocket Aux jack installed in rubber storage tray Climate comfort windshield (comes in handy in Phoenix) Huper Optik Drei window tint on front two side windows (matches stock tint very well, IR heat resistance is great) Upgraded Nav to V32 for perspective mode Wheel locks LED lights above license plate Just recently had to replace both front air shocks, compressor and control computer - that was expensive. Stlll to do: Replace the steering wheel BMW logo-it's showing some wear. I can't bring myself to buy a whole new airbag just for this cosmetic fix. Replace A/C control buttons (I blew out the dust with a can of compressed air and it blew a button off!) Thanks to everyone who provided so much great information on this website. This website was invaluable both for car shopping considerations and repairs. We love the 4.8is, even with the repair bills. Driving in sport mode always makes me smile. JazWhite |

Why I bought the 4.8is – one owner’s review after six months of ownership
-- written for the curious/prospective 4.8is buyer. First, why an X5? Assuming one is in the market for an SUV, the E53 X5 offers excellent handling, a smartly-designed luxury interior and a timeless exterior that puts it above many other SUVs. The shorter wheelbase makes it fun to drive and easy to park. Luckily, we didn’t need the huge cargo or seating space of a Ford Expedition type vehicle. Originally, we leased a 2006 3.0 X5 for two years then bought a used 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited in 2008 when gas was $4.50/gallon. This presented a very telling contrast. Fuel costs went down dramatically with 24 mpg normal unleaded in the Highlander vs. the 18 mpg premium with the X5. The Toyota had a better navigation system, an in-dash 6 CD changer, more cargo room and a third row fold down seat. The normal Toyota V6 plus the electric motor gave it more horsepower (and about the same torque) compared to the 3.0 X5. On paper, it appeared to be a step in the right direction, but after owning the Highlander only three days, we knew it was a mistake. My wife missed the solid feel of the door closing. The front-wheel-biased power of the Toyota all-wheel-drive system created a torque steer affect under heavy acceleration that drove me crazy. Our usual 80 mph drive up the interstate to the mountains was no fun and a little scary in the Toyota. We knew we had to get another X5. Why the 4.8is? Originally, I started out looking for a 2005-2006 4.4 with the premium package. With a plan to purchase a 4-5 year old vehicle, I could afford the greater power of the V8. I always thought the X5 would be more enjoyable to drive with more power than the 3.0 could deliver. Sadly, I couldn’t seem to find a 4.4 premium in good condition. The X5 4.4 sport package was too stiff, no matter how many of these I drove and tried to like. They were great on the road, but look out when you have to turn off the street and into a driveway or parking lot. I wasn’t looking for a hot rod, but decided to look at a 4.8is just to see how it compared. Wow, did this get my attention. Two underrated advantages that are not often discussed on this 4.8is thread: First, the full air suspension that is standard on all 4.8is X5s offers a significantly smoother ride than the 4.4 sport while still keeping the chassis in line during spirited driving. Secondly, the 4.8is engine is tuned differently and doesn’t have the throttle lag of the 3.0 and 4.4. The throttle lag of my first X5 always bothered me. Once I took it to the dealer to complain, but was told that this was “normal operation” for its throttle-by-wire system. Accelerating from a complete stop, I remember the 3.0 having a half second hesitation. The 4.4 was the same and only provided a moderate step up in power. The 4.8is has no delay and the extra power is not subtle. It rockets you forward like a good roller coaster. It goes when you say go. I was hooked and had to find one. Observations after owning my 4.8is for six months 1. Be ready for massive bills to repair the inevitable air suspension problems that are well discussed on this web site. I had the car independently inspected before I bought it specifically for leaks in the front shocks. I was told there were none. The air supply controller failed two weeks later. Six months later I had to replace both shocks and the air supply unit (pump) to get the vehicle back to normal operation. Each of these parts is about $650-$1100 (OEM) depending on the source. Throw in labor and you could top $5k to repair it all. I bought parts at the lower end of this spectrum and spent about $4k for everything. The two-year BMW parts warranty came in handy when the pump failed and took out the newly installed controller with voltage spikes. I plan to get the suspension inspected again by BMW just less than two years from now. Although painfully expensive, none of this is enough to make me want to get rid of this fantastic machine. Now that it’s fixed, driving it is again a huge pleasure. 2. The crème beige is not a nightmare to maintain. One consideration while shopping is that we wanted a lighter interior to stay cooler during Phoenix summers. Black was less than ideal. Pre-purchase, I feared I might not be able to keep the cream beige clean. The seat backs are crème beige also, unlike the truffle brown in the 3.0 and 4.4 that has the black backs. Most of the leather sections of the seats are a very smooth grain, but there are inserts on the main seat surface and sides of the headrest where highly contoured leather is used. On my car this heavy leather grain was obviously in need of a good cleaning when I bought it. Fortunately, after a serious leather detail, it almost looked like new. With a re-dying on some scuffed areas on the driver’s seat, the leather is now in perfect condition throughout with no dirt or color degradation at all. We keep the BMW brand leather cleaner on hand for quick clean ups of smudges. My eleven-year-old son occasionally kicks the seat backs. Not once have we not been able to wipe the smudge mark off without a trace. Bottom line-crème beige is a viable choice if you like the color. With black carpets, keeping the interior in top shape is easy. 3. Combine the knowledge gained from this web site, the great reference of the realoem.com parts website, and a discount parts source like bmwmercedesparts.com or getbmwparts.com and you can get a five-year-old BMW back in shape without a second mortgage. Thanks again for all the great contributions over the years that have built this great knowledge base. Jazwhite  |

Good write-up. Post some pics if you can. A couple of comments:
1. Given the risk of huge repair bills I personally would recommend buying an extended warranty of some sort. 2. I agree with the interior choice. Creme beige is beautiful, but for some inexplicable reason BMW opted to not keep the seat backs black like on the truffle brown version, etc. Why they would do that on an SUV is beyond me. I can't imagine them every staying clean unless you check everytime someone gets out of the car. 3. I agree with the power comments, I personally don't love the ground effect trim that the 'is model had. If the 'is engine came on a 4.4i body then I'd buy it tomorrow. Quote:
|
If I could find a quality warranty I would grab it. I saw the stories on this site of owners whose air shocks were not covered under their warranty because these were defined as "normal wear and tear" items. I am dreading the eventual automatic transmission replacement. If you have any leads on a quality aftermarket warranty, please let me know.
The seat backs do require a weekly touchup to look their best. I looked into changing them to black, but the parts are expensive :wow: I thought I was the only one who wasn't that jazzed about the 4.8is ground effect trim. I completely agree with you. To me, it makes the vehicle appear heavier and slower and takes away from the cleanness of the design. I've considered trying to do a conversion to the front and back to remove the 4.8is lower trim, but figured that would kill the resale. :dunno: Quote:
|
Try looking into the Fidelity Warranty. It is very highly rated and their platinum level of coverage really is excellent and to my knowledge does cover air suspension. I've only heard good things to be honest. There is a pretty good amount of info on the board on it; I even posted the contract in its entirety.
Yeah the ground effect trim is just okay for me. If I was in my teens, then no question I'd want it, but now it looks a little boy-racer-ish if you know what I mean. In black it's not as bad, less so in silver, but in blue or red it's terrible and as you said appears bottom heavy. Regarding the seats, I would never have imagined that a modification on a BMW was expensive!:thumbup: Quote:
|
After washing my car and cleaning my wheels today I realized they no longer have any type of finish on them. I guess I'd better start looking for someone to repaint and clear coat them.
Any recommendations for Portland Oregon? Thanks, D |
If you have the stock BMW software I HIGHLY recommend every 4.8is purchase OEtuning's 4.8is software. It is a night and day difference and worth every penny.
The drive-ability and power gains are incredible! It's a completely different vehicle. Buy IT! |
Quote:

It's not Dinan S/W. It's a completely different tuner. You won't be disappointed! If anyone is in the mid Atlantic region, dynotuned performance in Virginia beach can do the tune. I think it's around 600. It's worth every penny!
|
A bit more amplifying info, please...I'm gathering the name of the company providing the update is "OETuning"? Is this a re-flash of the stock ECU, a seperate ECU?
How do you know what the gains/advantages are without knowing the exact price? Did you have this done, or drive another 4.8is that did? (just to clarify, I'm not trying to be combative, just in the market myself and very curious) |
Yes the name is Oetuning. I received a discount because I have their tune on my 4.8is and a custom tune on my super chargex m3, which destroyed the dinan tune.
They flash the ecu, no Piggy back needed. I know the gains because I drive my 4.8is pretty hard. It's a huge difference. I also tow a 24ft enclosed trailer to and from the track. I picked up a bunch of torque and 1mpg. It makes a big difference! Where are you located? I'm in the community as well(nsw) feel free to pm me and we can discuss the tune further. If you're in VB I'll let you drive my x. Ryan Quote:

Can anyone explain to me why in my quest for a good 4.8is I keep coming across 2004's with much higher prices than identical 05/06 models?
All things considered something seems odd when a mint 04 is $8k more than one two years newer. What am I missing? |

Checkin in with my "new to me" X5. 2005. Just over 50k miles. Already testing the warranty with a new transmission.
Pic taken by the previous owner... I've not been able to spend much time with it yet. |
Really clean and I admire that colour - seen a few of those here in Abu Dhabi
BTW mikeinmn, howcome there's no aluminum on the running boards? Would've thought all 4.8iS would come with metal outriders... annoyed not to get the sliding trunk floor myself but could have bought it from the scrap guy & it takes up quite a chunk of space; that plus the lack of rechargeable torch (blanked off) and reclining rear seats - oh well... ;) http://www.e-bigs.net/BMW/my_X5_powerlines.jpg Hi all - Ian here - need a really decent forum to help out with some issues I get with this here car; will be lurking & posting as time permits :imnew: |
Good question Ian. Is something missing on it, or was the aluminum an option I dont have? Now that you mention it, I've seen them in other photos.
|
Also, Ian, thanks for the complements! The red with dark glass combo on yours in awesome.
|
You've just got to have the tints here; it's soooo hot - the police allow maximum 40% Abs here, unless you are a VIP of course, so no funny business behind the wheel!
You can probably make out the metal running boards on mine - I thought they would come as standard, but perhaps it was a style choice? I lost one of the little rubber grippers that come inserted in them and it looked awful with a hole in. The used parts guy is sure coming in useful... Here's an absolutely miiinnt 4.8 I saw parked behind the Intercon... http://www.e-bigs.net/BMW/blue_X5_mint.jpg |
Here are a couple of mine.

4.6is or 4.8is (E53 of course)
Hello everyone, I am in the market for a E53 4.6is or 4.8is. Wanted to get some input from you guys. I usually like to purchase low mileage vehicles, but with the beast, I hear horror stories. You know, members buy the car and then a month later the transmission or air suspension fails. I would hate to purchase a 4.8is with 60,000 miles and then drop money on a big ticket item. I am thinking of going with a 4.6is with high mileage, maybe even over 100,000. Some of these are in great shape. Some of the 4.6is have over 90,000 miles and original transmission. Is this a ticking time bomb. I have noticed in my search that the 4.8is have more transmission problems, is this true? Can you guys comment on this. I try to be a DIY kind of guy. I will do oil, brakes and look at the forums and follow instructions by fellow members, but would not tackle the expensive and extensive repairs, like transmission or suspension. I would appreciate any help and advice you guys can give me. I want to be able to post pics of my beast here as well.
|
Welcome! I am glad to hear that you are interested in an e53. Like you said low mileage 4.8 or 4.6 are hard to come by. It is likely that you will find vehicles with high mileage and that have been driven. Like you noted the suspension and trans. have known issues. I recently replaced my trans. for around 7-8k (4.8 at about 110k miles)! This is something to watch out for along with the suspension. Definitely take it in to a third party shop and have them look over it. If the trans. has been replaced that will no longer be an issue for a long long time. If you dont find a vehicle with a new trans then make sure the fluids have been regularly serviced. The suspension is very tough to deal with though. So make sure there is no leaks! Also you may have read that these cars have terrible depreciation so you will ost likely drive this car into the ground.
Let me know what you think |
Hello people
I'm from Holland and a week ago I bought a X5 4.8is year 2005. Some pics. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...4012Medium.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...4019Medium.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...4034Medium.jpg |
Congratz, It's a very Hot X. and that color is awsome too.
|
Sweeet! I am wondering how my Imolarot colour would look like with black multispokes...
Nice colour and super-clean - enjoy! |
Nice, that is a nice color. I am still searching and hopefully you guys will see a picture of my beast in the near future.

Thank you!!
That picture was on a drive up the Jebel Hafeet mountain in Abu Dhabi with the BMWclubUAE; I don't mind showing it off - it's burly outside, comfy inside... Bit of a problem with hard vibration on idle at the mo - posted about it in the 'transmission issues' thread, not sure if that is the right place?? |

2006 X5 4.8is - Chicago, IL
Hey guys,
I am new to the board, and I apologize (pardon me) if I am offending anyone with this post. I'm selling my 2006 X5 4.8is blk/blk with low miles (41K). Would love an opportunity to share this car with you guys. Please PM me if you know anyone that maybe interested. Car is also listed on CARS.COM. Thanks, G | 773.680.8081 |

We got our X5 4.8 about a month or so ago. We love this car! we also have a 330i and a 135i but the X5 is quickly becoming our favorite vehicle. It's the perfect combination of luxury and performance.
Quick back story: My GF is the parts and service director at a dealership. She got an '05 X5 4.4 to use as her daily driver. It was kind of beat and the sun roof wouldn't close on it's own but after about a month, we liked to so much we decides to buy it for 10k... a pretty good deal. Well while we were away for the weekend they sold it on her for 19k to some poor soul. They felt bad so they gave us their credentials for the dealer auctions. Thats where we found the 4.8... Palm Beach Fla. and had it shipped up. We've added black grilles and hood vents, rear bumper step protection, NI-NOC'd all of the wood interior, added a phone holder and full cargo are protection cover. rubber front mats, replaced wheel center caps, replaced angel eyes bulbs with LED bulbs and replaced rear roundel Maintenance done so far: power steering return hose, coolant expansion tank front control arm bushings and in the process of fixing the air suspension hell: replaced all of the air bags and still working out other air suspension issues. I'd like to say that we wouldn't of been able to do a lot of this without X outpost. We are members on several BMW forums... some of them are pretty bad. This site seems to be one of the best and the members are very helpful and respectful without any flaming. That is very refreshing. Here are some Pics: http://i424.photobucket.com/albums/p...3/_DSC1715.jpg http://i424.photobucket.com/albums/p...3/_DSC1649.jpg http://i424.photobucket.com/albums/p...3/_DSC1655.jpg |
Why the hell do black grilles look good on every other color but black. I put black ones on my 4.8, only to take them off a mont later. Looks good socket. Welcome.

Yea, my e46 is black and I still have the stock grilles... I'm with ya. The black just doesn't look right |

beautiful car, just not feeling the carbon fiber trim. to each his/her own.

Thanks for posting sockethead, it looks great. I have been contemplating putting black grills on my Lemans, but wasn't sure how it would look. I might try color matched surrounds with black slats though.
Are the black grills and vents you bought OEM? The ebay ones are tempting at $50. |

If you do the color matched, please post a pic. I'd like to see hoe that looks. The grilles came from Bimmian and the hood vents are BMW OEM off of ebay. The hood vents were really hard to find... Slick, to be honest, the Bimmian grilles didn't fit that well either. I had to use hot glue along the bottom of both sides to get them to stay in. We'll see whether that makes it through the summer heat... I've heard of some people having success with Plasti Dip... |
Great post Socket. I just sold my 4.8iS to my son and bought the 2011 X5M. Its amazing how good that 2006 looks even compared to the new one. He put the black gills on his and it looks great. on the LeMans Blue? OUTSTANDING. Where did you get the carbon? his steering wheel is dinged and needs a change.
He paid THIRTY DOLLARS for his gills. I dont know where tho. |

I got the DI-NOC from Bimmian. It is a 3M product... not sure if it's that latest as LeMansX5 said. you can order it in various sizes and they have an installtion video which shows how to wrap an X5 steering wheel. I'd order enough to allow for at least one screw up.... I had to do my console twice |

Lemans/Black Grills
Picked up a pair of used 3.0 grills in great condition off of ebay for $30 and painted the surrounds Lemans Blue this weekend. I also plasti-dipped the hood vents until I order the OEM black ones. I used plasti-dip so that I can peel the paint off and go back to silver if I ever want to. I'm very happy with the new look!

Dude, That looks awesome! I think I like that better than the full black grilles, nicely done! I'm going to have to show my GF this...
What did you use to paint them Blue? BTW where in south Jesey are you? We're going to be putting something together in the area this summer on another forum... it would be nice to have a couple of X5 there too... |

I'm in Haddon Township, basically 5 minutes from Cherry Hill. I'd definitely be interested in getting together, what's the other forum? |

It was started about a year and a half ago after some other sites started getting too annoying... a great bunch of guys & gals over there and there are a lot of members in the tri-state area... Yea, Yiou are relly close, we'll definitely have to get together. I'll send you a PM... |
Purchasing a beast
Well guy's I'm still in the market for a e53 4.6 or 4.8. I am debating purchasing a beast with lower miles 40,000-70,000 or one with 100,000 plus. One with new transmission and front suspension Refresh at over 100,000 miles sounds good. The lower mile models will more likely fail at any time. I always purchased cars with lower miles. Insurance screwed me with my last super low mileage car. Totaled dont think it worth paying the premium price for low miles anymore. What do you guys think. By the way, Does the e53 have need the cooling overhaul like the e39 v8's? Any other big ticket items to watch out for. Thanks

Sockethead - did you do all the suspension work yourself? Based on your name I assume you are mechanically inclined. Would you say this could be a DIY for someone that has some experience working on cars (not an X5) and with the aid of TIS? Thank You.

Not all but the car had all the Suspention upgrades. but I like my X5 BUS LOL.

Had a lil fun recently with the odometer on my '04 4.8is:

Did you give up any power with your X-pipe? Happy with the AFE?
|
Quote:
I did both mods so soon after buying the thing last year with 11K miles on it that I couldn't really tell what changes were there. I think I did post here that the AFE seemed to smooth out power delivery- less of a hesitation on acceleration. The X pipe just makes me giggle. The number of people who remark about how good it sounds is incredible. Most of them say, "I've never heard a BMW that sounds like THAT!" Not too loud, and just smooth enough. I like it. |

Replacing the air bags is pretty strait forward. The front struts swap out like any other strut except for the air line. the rear air bags are just a bunch of clips.... they were the simplest thing I've done so far... |
|
Can anyone tell me if the rear rims of the 2006 4.8is can accommodate smaller size tires (width)? Has anyone tried going with 275/40/20 in all corners? Thank You.
|
Don't do it man... Just trade it in and get the X3.

Thank you! I love the car but sometimes I think the ride could improve if the rear tires were just a tad less wide.

Just picked up my X5 today. 2002 Estoril Blue with silver trim and sport seats with only 80K. I love this truck. Pics to come as soon as I can get my camera to work.

I'm looking at an 02 4.6 with 140k miles. Wondering if there are any experts in the 4.6is market that could advise on a fair price for the truck? If someone is willing to call me or drop me an email, I would really appreciate it.

I just received my '06 4.8is: love it, but have two questions.
1. I need a tow assembly added: I see quite a few on eBay that are rated at 6000lbs with a 600 tongue weight. These are all bolt-on that require drilling. Anyone care to add their opinion to these? 2. On my tachometer, there are three LED's to the rev limiter that remain lit: the last two red ones post 7k & the 6500 orange one: anyone comment on this? I put 100 miles on it yesterday (though in the mid 50's)...do these require higher operating outdoor temps for these lights to go out? Thanks! |
those are the ones that dont go out :)
|
would a very slow leak of any one of the 4 air-springs cause the SLS inactive light?
i have had compressor fuse unpluged for 4 days now, have not noticed any drop |
ANything can trigger that error. A slow leak... whatever. I am currently battling the SLS error now. I think I have an idea what the problem is, but who knows with EHC2

pretty amazing mileage out of that joemorelli!
Adding some pics of my car I've taken. Does anyone else have AC Schnitzer bits? Mine were from the dealer when the car was purchased |
Wow those AC wheels need spacers. That stance looks very 3.0. Other that rims, what other AC stuff do you have?
|
did consider spacers...might be something to do at some point.
got uprated calipers, custom exhaust from AC, the wheels and embossed badging on the headrests too. Didn't have the engine remapped as wanted to keep it relatively stock. you could sit there all day (and spend lots) but I tried to keep it relatively simple :D |
Quote:
I have the same AC Schnitzer wheels on my black on black 2002 4.6i, except mine are chrome, 30mm spacers in the rear, none on the front. |
You guys must really drive on great roads. Those rims look tits, but I they would be destroyed in 20 miles of NYC roads.
|
@ SlickGT1... :iagree:
Been there - done that man...I DO NOT miss NYC roads one bit. Couldn't have a nice vehicle up there for 2 long. |
pretty lucky here really, the roads are good quality!
it is mainly a motorway car or autobahns |
19" style 69 wheels
Help. Can anyone tell me if the 19" style 69 will fit the 4.8is? I have a 2006 4.8 and the style 69 are from a 2005 4.4. I would like to get them as a winter set, although I have noticed that the best I will find in that size is probably all-season tires. Right now I have summers in the stock 20" rims, so it will help. We get snow where I live. Thank You.
|
Yea will fit. I have 18 replica 57s and those clear the front brakes just fine.
