caliper + Alternator = great weekend

what a great weekend:( my brakes went out on me last night & when i went to check em at my andy shop it turned out to be the :confused:r(drivers). so am gonna get both calipers, pads done, and rotors turned sometime this week. so when i was on the freeway going home, my battery light went off, after 15 minutes of driven i noticed the radio turned off all brakes/ABS/ traction and etc lights went off and within seconds the X turned up.. ya try to pull into the far right lane from a busy freeway within gettin hit :yikes: but i managed to get it safely and got it towed home.. my friend came by to check it out and said it my
Alternator:wow: wat a great way to have everything go wrong all at once:doh:...

anyways i been doin a search here but i dont seem to get anywhere. does anyone know a place or a website where
u can get an Alternator Replacement at a reasonable price.. i did a search here and its all $390+ and core on top( total of $500+). am sure some of us here got some deals from somewhere. if u guys dont mind can anyone share there info. i would really appreciate it

A good friend of mine started selling parts for old 2002s and now has a nice little business going selling BMW and Porsche parts. Great guy and very competitive pricing.

Parts: Blunttech.com - OE and Aftermarket Parts For Your New or Vintage BMW

And it helps if you know the part #'s you need, you can browse BMW's parts system here: RealOEM.com Online BMW Parts Catalog
*the pricing on realoem is dealer list and usually quite a bit higher than his prices.

alternatorpros.com I picked one up for my mini and it was over half the price of BMW for the same alternator. And they overnight it fedex free.

I'm not sure you'll be able to find it for less than the $390 you were quoted. I just checked with Autozone - they usually have very good pricing, but their price is $454.99 plus $150 core for $604.99 and that's a remanufactured alternator. Keep shopping and good luck - it's not going to be cheap! Let us know how things work out for you.

ya i checked with auto zone too and thats the exact price they gave me...
some memeber here on Xpost got his for $171.45 and thats a very good deal but that site is closed :( thanks for ur feed back buddy hopefully some member here comes across this post and share there info/deal :S
