I will add myself to the club of those who have found these parts in their oil filter canister. Frustrating, but I am not embarking on the repair needed to replace the pump. She has 285,000km. I'll keep fixing the leaks and see how long it goes.

This happens to my X5 in the beginning of 2017. I did not do anything about it and it still going strong.

Still no issues to report on my end. Actually forgot about it :)
