Thanks JaredT, those are some great shots of your X. The pictures and info helps alot, I was a little worried about the clearence and even the width on the Snowcat. I have a wide board for larger feet and the snowboard holders may be a little narrow for it.

I've been doing a little research on other Thule/Yakima base systems and snowboard carriers and found that Thule does not carry any risers but a few of the Yakima products do. I think I'm going to go with the Thule 450R base + aero cross bars but am still undecided on the snowboard carrier. I'd post a pic of the 450R that's sitting on my PC desktop but I don't know how post pictures in these threads. :dunno:

I have the same setup: 450R footpack and Aero crossbars. Attached are the 726 carriers.

How many boards can you fit on that? Just two?

breytonX5 12-25-2005 12:34 PM

Total of 4. Side by side and base to base.

Wow, from the pictures it doesn't look like it can fit four. Do you have any further away shots? I have a Toledo Blue and I don't know if I want some silver ones are look for some black ones. How is the wind noise? If you don't mind, how much did they run you?

That angle is deceiving. What's good is it telescope out so it's easier to load the boards. I'll take a couple more pics.

That pic is deceiving, but it does look good! I just want them to match my car thats why I was thinking about getting the snow cat because it's black. But I'm worried about clearance because I don't want to have my roof scratched. Decisions! Do you know any place to get a good deal on them?

breytonX5 12-25-2005 01:14 PM

I'll take pics with all 4 snowboards on them so you can see there's no issue with roof clearance. Brushed alum. will look fine with your toledo blue or any other color. I got them from Rack Attack.

Edit: a few pics just taken.

I too have tha Aero bars. They are awesome!! I am using a fairing as well. Love the look oft the thing. I think Thule just 'reintroduced' the aero bars in the US, along with new feet. I have different feet than those shown above. I'll take a look around for some pics,

Here's a link to a shop that sells the Aero Bars.

Thanks for the extra pics, I love the fact that the telescope out. I brushed aluminum looks great with your Sterling Grey and would look great with black or silver but I just don't know about any other color. I saw a 2005 Dark Green with them today and I was trying to talk to him but he didn't really want to pull over at 85 mph on the highway. They didn't match anything else on the car. That's what I'm afraid of. There is no other brushed aluminum on my car unless I get some running boads...
