BMW X5 Exhaust Mufflers Delete

4 Attachment(s)
After spending hours and hours on YouTube trying to find the right exhaust for my X5 without spending $2500 on EISENMANN muffler, I finally found true happiness.
All I did was a mufflers delete. Stock cats and stock resonator are still on. I decided to not do the X pipe due to people having some torque losses. I had a local mechanic custom made two Y pipe on both side instead of the mufflers with 2.5” stainless steal tips. I can finally here the V8 now. I have been driving with those since two months without any issues, and I hope it will stay that way.
I am just sharing my exhaust here for those like me who have spend so many hours trying to find a nice exhaust system for cheap.
By the way it’s 2002 4.4i with 127000 miles on the clock.

Sounds good!!!

More aggressive than the resonator delete/x-pipe mod.

I have a 2003 4.4i, i thought i read that for x-pipe use 2.25" I assume this Y would be the same, the 2.5" is correct size? BTW where did you get the tips and for how much, and how much did the shop charge to do this for you?

Man that sounds aggressive, but inside how does it sound, not terribly loud when windows are up...the second video windows are down...

I paid 300 box including everything (tips, costume Y pipe, installation). Yes you're right about the size, the pipes themselves are 2.25" but the tips weld on the pipe are 2.5". It's kind of 2.25" inlet with 2.5" outlet Y pipe. Inside the car with the windows up, as long as stay between 1000-2500 rpm its all right, but once I go over 3000 rpm its getting louder.

the best is when the neighbor turns and looks. "dang kids and their... bimmer?"

sounds good, too much for my liking.

i deleted my resonator and used i think a 2.25" X-Pipe. the BMW exhaust is metric so its not a perfect fit. this coupled with a larger cone intake filter setup make my x sound nice-a-nice when i get on it and it doesnt drone when cruising. i'll have to post some sound clips, really sounds good, and it was an inexpensive mod. (provided you have a welder available)

you'd be surprised how much of a difference an intake makes.

Awesome Growl, but did any one catch that sticker with the Warning and the two stick figures.. whats exactly are those two stick figures doing? rofl

Haha. My neighbor doesn't say Hi to me anymore since I change the exhaust!
I am curious to hear how yours sound. Did you notice any power loss/increase when removing the resonator?
