Gotcha. Did you have the same stumble we discribed?

EDG08 09-21-2010 11:45 PM

no stumble, but the holel is pretty small and in only one hose. Your two hoses are were totally gone, wow. Where can I look to see if my lower hose has a tear in it? I have a small amount of oil under the truck and the dealer said it is just from a weepy seal which is common in x5's.
Thanks for the help guys!!

For the top two. just remove the aft metal support for the plastic engine cover you already took off. The top two should be easy to replace

Thanks, guys.
good night, getting off work ...

Thanks

I dont know if it is correct or not, but I just used radiator hose.

EDG08 09-22-2010 01:37 PM

yeah i was wondering where the 3rd hose is located so i can look at it to see if it needs to be replaced.

The top two are easy. There are two other smaller hoses that are called oil return lines. One is from the oil separator and the other is a smaller one from the crankcase ventilation(breather) valve which is mounted to the rear of the intake manifold. I recently changed all of mine and had to remove the lower skid plate to complete the job in order to get to the oil pan where the lines attach. It's a b@$%&!!! Good luck.
