HELP! "Self Level Susp. Error"...Perillo BMW in Chicago NOT able to Remove???
 

Recently installed KW Coilovers...

My car is currently at Perillo BMW and they are saying it is "impossible" to remove the 'Susp Inact' error after a spring retro-fit....This can't be accurate? Does anyone know of how i can properly inform them on this procedure? I've done a lot of searches but haven't been able to get a clear cut explination that i can give to someone at the dealership.

Thanks Twins...I did search not really sure how to explain this to the dealer (or even why i have to?!:rolleyes:).....Anyone know a tech at Perillo that can help me out with this? thanks

I can't believe Perillo sent you away. As you can see from my thread from last summer, Killcrap was very confident that Perillo could get this done. I pm'd you with my info from my visit to Laurel BMW in Westmont, IL. They got mine done perfectly in 1 day.

At Perillo, Donny Kno is the shop foreman (I hope I got the spelling correct) and drives an '04 X5 himself. I bought my current X5 from Perillo, thought the sales experience was the worst in over 30 years of driving but the service department was great. However, living in the west 'burbs it's just easier to take my cars to Westmont. They've been great. I deal with the service lane manager directly- Steve Olsen.

But keep in mind that dealers are there to make the cars run the way they came from the factory. Not fix errors from mods. Might try a good independent shop with the tools to do the work. Try VFC Engineering in Ravenswood. Doug Hillman is an enthusiast and has several good techs that can probably get that reset for you. I'm a customer of his other side of the business- VFC Motorsport- he built my custom 911 gearbox beautifully, and works on a lot of modded German vehicles, both street and track. Not uncommon to see VW Jettas and BMW 3-series there alongside 911 Twin Turbos and GT3's.

Darn....and I thought dealers were there to help customers get the most out of their vehicle.....

the new ISTA system is a PIA to get this done with the Ibac codes is what they will need to import the new ZCS coding. If you want to come up to MN I know its a 4 hour drive I can gladly fix it for you.

Contact these guys, they are in Naperville. Mike is a BMW freak, I am very happy to have found an alternate to dealership.
