Hi there and thanx for the reply and the pictures! Nice X5 by the way! I have the same bodykit. No my racks are not the same as these ones but one of my friends had those racks and I tried his key and it worked on my racks but again he doesn't have the key code! No I still havn't ordered them because no dealer knows how to order them without the key code. Also I checked behind the nut head and there is nothing! No numbers! If you have a spare key I would like to buy it of you. Can you please send me a picture of it to make sure it's the right one? Here's my email [email protected] thanx man!!!

Welcome to Xoutpost. I see you currently only have 11 posts so you are a new member here (or very quiet, lol). Thanks for the compliment too.
Stuff of minimal cost we here on Xoutpost willingly share. So I'll send it to you for only the shipping cost but I'd wan2 know that I was sending the right key before we went thru all that trbl. The stamping is really tiny but there should be metal stamps under each of the bolt heads hidden from the eye if the bolts are screwed all the way in when the rack is actualy mounted on the roof.
Additionally I wanted to say that to be rid of the whole nonsense of keys (and I live in a reasonably high vandalism/theft area), I simply used a needlenose pliers and then a vise grip to remove all the keyed bolts and I replaced them with corrosion resistant regular hex head bolts. Now I can use my cordless drill to zip the rack on and off the roof rails. You DEFINITELY cant do that with the key.
I dont remember the threading but I'm pretty sure they were metric values. Once you have the bolt all the way out you can take it into a Home Depot or Lowe's and they have a bolt and nut threading chart/apparatus that verifies the threading of either.
