Thanx for replying! You know the tool to tighten and untighten the lock on the roof racks. It's like an L shap with a plastic removable handle on one end, on the other end it has a round head and that's where the nut go in to tighten the lock on the roof racks. Sorry I don't have a picture and I'm bad at giving descriptions. I appreciate your help man!!!

Sorry just noticed the link you added. YES this is it!!! How can I order one and I was told by BMW the there is a 3 digit code on the lock that is on the roof rack... I looked on mine all it says 53. I'm really frustrated with the dealers!! Do you have roof racks? If yes can you check on the lock that grabs on to the car if there is a 3 digit code on it? Or if you know a better way to order this tool key thing. Thank you!!!

On mine it has a built in torque wrench, so it is kind of product-specific. I imagine you could use an allen wrench. This is what mine looks like. Put the part # in on penskeparts.com and appeared to be able to order for $11.95, but didn't actually check out.

Well the second picture you sent me yes it is a regular L shaped Allen key but that's not the one! It's in the first picture you sent me... If you look closely at the end of the Allen key it has a round head... That is the key for my roof rack. The first picture #6. thank you for taking the time to reply to my messages!!! Really appreciate it!

Yep it appears as though only the dealer can help for that key.

Well my roof racks are different than the ones you have. They are the same as the very first link you sent me so is the tool #6. I'm gonna try order it the way you told me and hopefully it would be the right one. You rock man! Thanx a lot!!! I love this Xoutpost thing I just got registered and it's really helpful for my baby X5 and me! Thanks again Scott!!!
