Took mine to the car wash, a nice indoor self serve place. Took my time, waxed her, worked on the leather a bit. ZOMG the steering wheel was filthy!

Then I drove her around a bit, and now she's covered in salt again... but at least she's got a layer of wax between her and that salt. :P

Woody86, X looks great!

....when's the next tailgate cats cradle party??:lmao:

I finally found a trustworthy guy to leave my X with for an all day repair session; dropping it off yesterday night, we did the engine mounts, new front-left shock and brake booster which had failed in traffic halfway down one of Abu Dhabi's main highways while taking my daughter to school... drove it for 2 days in a 'pumping iron' style until I could leave it there. Now there is virtually no engine noise in the cabin at idle and the vibrations in the steering wheel are a thing of the past. So worth it...

Looking forward to getting my Bluetooth code reader (torque-compatible) when my folks get here in a couple of weeks :D

Always feels so good to get it back the way it should be!

oil filter housing seal and preventively replaced the engine mounts while Im at it - cha-ching $1100 :|

To be honest I'd forgotten how smooth this car should be - should convince the wife to hold on to it a while longer - she is threatening to make me sell it as it is 'expensive' to keep repairing (in the most understated sense of the word);

still have to sort out why the adaptive headlight fail happens when I steer to right-of-center, and fix the PDC, and the remote lock on the drivers door...

I plan to replace the oil filter housing gasket myself but the motor mounts look to be best left to a shop.

forgot to mention new pads all round and a couple of new gas struts under the hood as I was starting to think my X was actually trying to kill me...

A bit of a result tonight as well in fixing the PDC system - actually my sh!tty soldering was to blame, trying to insert a potentiometer before the back speaker and got gummed up with melted shielding :P

So now all is calm, vibe-free, I have variable loudness on my parking sensors, and I can even stop adequately for pedestrians and other road users.

So much for that! After 2 good days the battery light is back on. Console is reading between 10.6 and 11.9v. I guess there is a chance the new Bosch is bad but my first stop will be the battery. Anything else that might be the culprit?

What I'm doing today: Going battery shopping...

edit: making new thread...
