Put the snow shoes on the 4.8 and the 4.4 today then discovered coolant leaking in the 4.4. Do a tear down... Stupid o rings for the water pipes that sit ontop of the VPG gave out. Motor is basically torn down again, going to get the parts tomorrow. The o rings were new when I replaced the VPG back in '10, after taking them out, they basically fell out in little pieces. Dried, cracked and brittle. What a hop in the A$$..

I've been doing this since I got my truck as well....flipped through it the other day when I was adding in my last batch of ECS invoices, and was kind of taken back at just how much has been done in the 8 years of ownership!

I noticed there are years where I did very few or no mods and then years that I must have needed renewed interest. The forum has surely been an influence.

My invoices for maintenance have been a hell of a lot since I purchased my X 2 years ago, but hoping for more normal intervals for the next couple years. I find in all my cars there are "maintenance waves" we all go through, some are rougher than others but still beats hitting up the bank for a new car note.

BC, fogs look awesome! Be sure to check rotation alignment in a dark garage, mine had to be adjusted when I got my fogs installed to be sure the cutoffs were level. Your X looks phenomenal, really looking forward to seeing your headlights get done!

Oh and btw I wish I lived in TX and could get a black license plate!

I put a line on the wall before I took the old bulbs out. I will also be doing a night check on the street soon.

Yes, most of the higher cost months were due to maintenance but there were quite a few due to a bunch of mods I crossed off my wish list in that month.

I would much rather pay for maintenance as well.

Meant to post this yesterday...
I replaced my front right cv boot as it had a little hole and was starting to crack pretty bad inside the groves. BTW, I was only able to do this with the great help from this site and I ended up having to heat the axle nut with a torch for a couple seconds cause I couldn't get it to move even with a 4' cheater bar on the breaker bar. What a pain in the ass this was. I highly recommend not doing this without a BIG sledge hammer or axle extraction tool, or it will be difficult. Especially in 35 degree weather :chilled:
After I got everything back together, I used the hose clamp method to compress the C clip and slide the cv back on. I also got a new front windshield washer pump as my old one stopped working and started leaking. I also soldered some 1000, 35w Electrolytic capacitors to the hid fog light harness to eliminate the annoying check fog lights message (which actually works! As opposed to the resistor method). And finally my gf's dad offered to fill my tank since I was almost at E
