It's around 250lbs.

Be aware, any forced induction system will decrease that weight advantage.

Neat!! Really interested in seeing the results of those mods!

I'm afraid the underdrive pulleys will cause hot running in an already hot motor? And I wonder if it will affect servotronic steering?

What kind of inprovement in 0-60 time do you project with the new ratio?

Not concerned about running hot. I replaced the clutch fan with a variable temperature controlled electric fan so I have lots of cooling. And, the VAC pulleys have lots of history of success.

There's no way to accurately calculate improvement from changing to lower gear ratios. I might get a tenth. The primary reason I am making the change is to improve the launch. Most of what I do is from a stoplight. Another reason was to lower the stress on the driveline and transmission..

BC, are you running a clutchless electric fan set up? If so, this will give you a bit more power and as far as steering goes, I'd imagine there would be no difference.

Will you dyno before and after?

Yes, removed mechanical clutch fan about a year ago in favor of a variable thermostat electric fan. Fried a controller but no other problems since.

I will do a few after I install two stage nitrous system primarily to adjust the flow of the meth injection so I make sure I don't have a lean condition. Nitrous and lean condition is high risk. The two don't play well together.

Left rear window regulator. Anyone else accidentally hit the rear window when they go to lower their drivers? The button gets me every time. This time, headed down the highway to our plant in PA, halfway through my trip... Hit the button... crunch.

Window fell down, wouldn't go back up. Had to pull over, use needle nose to grab and pull the window up and wedge something in the track so it'd stay up and I could make it to where I was going. Called BavAuto and Otto being the man, overnighted me a new regulator, and a dozen door panel clips. Had a local indy down here do the work as a walk in customer - highly recommend them! The job was super easy, but not something you want to do in a hotel parking lot, when it's 5ºF out.

Did the Vanos Seal replacement and repair on my 4.6is. Installed new chain rail guides and cam tensioner guides. The vanos seals were definitely defective hard and crumbly and the cam tensioner guides definitely had wear marks in them. Next up rebuilding of the engine front.

On scale of 1-10 where would you rate the time guides job?

Were you concerned about replacing the seals DIY verses getting rebuilt ones from Dr. Vanos?

This is the fourth M62 engine that I and my brother have done in replacing the seals using the Besian kit. I believe the first time that I did it Dr Vanos did not have rebuilt units of the M62 just so I went the DIY besian route. I have had success with all 3 unit seal rebuilds and I anticipate that this will be the fourth. Its not hard changing the seals in the units, just take your time and follow the directions on the site.

When you say the time guides do you mean the time to replace or the difficulty. The timing guides replacement does not take long (a 5 on 1-10 scale). It took more time loosening the crank bolt on the bottom of the engine to remove the lower timing cover. Tip on doing this get a 3/4 inch drive 27mm socket with a 3/4 inch drive breaker bar. Attach a jack handle pipe to the breaker for ultimate leverage and the bolt will turn loose.

I have one of those annual oil changes to do next month. Add in the 3 year/30k mile transmission fluid change (and filter this time -- 60k on rebuilt transmission) and it'll be ready to roll again for quite a while.
