Replaced the ribbon cable in my head-unit this afternoon. I bought the solder-in style from someone in Canada for about $25. Directions said 3 hours start to finish and that was fairly accurate. I finally have all of the pixels working again.

Hopefully this is a one time job; it's tedious to get the unit apart.

Had mine open too this week - got a couple of rows coming and going. Put a tiny amount of contact treatment into joints and it seems to have cured it for now. We'll see... :rolleyes:

BTW, be careful of the Pelican Parts description of how to remove the MID from the dash - it's very wrong. Thank goodness I always cross reference stuff I read on the 'net! :confused:

Yep. Mine was just a quarter turn of the tiny Torx T8 screw under the volume knob, while pulling on the volume shaft.

The instructions that came with mine were a bit marginal; I used the YouTube videos of some Russian guy from NY; he has a 3 part series.

Mine too - Torx T10 I think though.
