That makes your tires a WHOPPING 2" larger in diameter with 49 fewer revs per mile, you have MASSIVE speedo error (at 55 speedo indicated your actual is around 62 mph). The increased tire diameter also changes the effective gear ratio, causing a massive decrease in acceleration, it also drops the engine RPM down below the peak hp range, killing anything resembling a high speed runs. A 4 cyl Camry should be able to show this X its rear bumper in both situations.

Still waiting on reply to tire rub question.

Don't forget massive unsprung mass on the suspension, worse braking, worse handling and greater wear on suspension components.

Yes. Those issues were covered in the first few replies in this thread.

small rub at full lock, only noticeable with front windows open.

being a dinan s3 it has enough power to push the wheels

the wheels really arent that heavy, the lips/barrels weigh barely anything, the faces and bolts are the heaviest thing.

for you gods of perfect cars, the main wheels i had on it were 20" volk te37, so by comparison you guys would be the ones with the crappy overly heavy wheels

the 24's are great but were only used for some of the summer months

Hardly. Ultra-light Envys here, knocked around 7lbs off each wheel/tire assembly compared to the 255-55-18 Sport Pkg OE wheel/tire assy.
Hub centered mass is about as much as possible with this wheel design too.

So if I understand it, the tires rub when at full lock, but if the stereo is loud enough the driver doesn't notice, implying that it is therefore acceptable? That's just embarrassing.

 I take it the rubbing wasn't a serious question

20 pound forged aluminum 1 piece wheels still lighter

If you don't notice it, it never happens. :bustingup

So true. Reminds me of my '80s modding days on a '79 6.6 TA, steamrollers all around that rubbed in front and rears that fit only after I removed the rear seat outer seatbelt anchors and pounded the inner wheelwell bulges flat where the anchors where. It stuck like glue but embarassed me in parking lots.

OT...I had a '76 T/A, and then a '78 T/A: 400, 4 spd, 8" wide oe deep lip honeycomb wheels, etc. No T top.
Car hauled azz, stuck like glue, and we made many trips from NJ back to TheMotor in that car, with 2 knucklehead kids stuffed in the backseat, lol!

Sold it in '82 for nearly what I paid for it, to some guy that was drooling over it. I liked it almost as much as my '73 454 Chevelle SS.
Ah, the old days.
GL, mD

PS...as for the wheels in this thread, I could not care less what one puts on their car. Everyone has their own bag. ;)
