yes, i became very familiar with those parts having to do with air intake. maf sensor ok.
air filter. is clean K&n without any oil. throttle body has been cleaned when replaceing boot. im thinking its the valve, idle control valve.

How do you know the MAF sensor is good?

TerminatorX5 11-09-2012 03:15 PM

ICV? hmmm... i had ICV problem on my E39 with M52 engine.. i had to keep the foot on the gas or that thing would stall...

does your engine stall?

the temporary remedy (for a month or two) was to rev up the engine all the way into the red line, and then it was normal for a while...

does carsoft read dme?

which program would you use to view codes?

I used carsoft 6.5 when I had my E34 Touring, but with my current E53 X5 I use an app call Torque. It works with most android devices including phones. I use a Bluetooth adapter called ELM. I keep the bluetooth adapter in the car and if I need to check the engine I can call up the app on my android phone. The Torque App is way better then Carsoft. You don't need to buy a special cable and you don't need a computer. I have the app on a Toshiba Thrive Tablet running Ice Cream Sandwhich.

the hot film... that is the mass air flow sensor

but dde is the diesel computer. 'dme' thats the gas computer you need to read the codes from

You still haven't pull the code yet? At least it will tell you to check for instead of you checking random parts. I have a MaxiCan $18 to pull code quick, as well as INPA for more complex stuffs.
