Maybe its just me (and my old age)...but my expectation of this new digital maps/navigation isn't all that high. Yes, they're nice and convenient...but for some reason I only have a moderate expectation of their accuracy for some reason. Maybe I'm mentally stuck in the age of old time "paper" maps. :D
And there are some differences with these newer CD/DVDs...that may just be subtle that you're not picking up on yet. I too, have seen some odd things...for instance the land where I work is an old WWII community that used to have multiple streets and small barrack-like houses. In fact, there's even a section of old sidewalk going a long ways down a gravel lot were snow ploys and seldom used specialty vehicles are stored and overflow parking when gatherings are held in a training center in the compound. I noticed the other day while fobbing the gate open, that the nav monitor indicated that I was on Johnson St. ...when I was actually in the drive coming off the south parking lot of our 3 building compound.
I can't even imagine why or how our parking lot is entered as being Johnson St when that area has been razed over 40 years ago. But just as odd as that is, today while getting my summer tires mounted, I noticed that some of the new housing additions and shopping centers within a mile of the vendor were indicated on the map. I popped out the new 2012 disc and put my original disc back in...and none of these additions or POI (shopping centers) came up on the screen.
So yes, there's some oddities, but there's also some new stuff...especially POI data and little things like the checkered flag within the circle in your destinations that have been input etc.
