Thanks for posting. I am really interested to hear how they work. My standard 100k mile suspension is no longer compatible with the frost heaved roads around here. The price is attractive compared to lowering springs and sport shocks/struts.

The ride is going to be completely different. Much much stiffer. When going up my drive way my X 3 wheels. I have 14k/11k spring rates. I'm going to a lesser rate to get lower

A friend installed these last week and said he was rubbing when he slammed it on 19's. He said he's raised it back up and settled on 3" all the way around, got an alignment and no issues what so ever. We don't understand how the OP here - http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...ng-20x11s.html can have 20x11's and not rub, so I guess I'll have to install mine, lower it until it doesn't rub my staggered 20's and then get an alignment and hope for the best that the shop will be able to get it back into factory specs.

m5james,

I just pulled the trigger on these also. Did you installed yours? How hard was it if you did, and do you have any tips? I was going to replace my struts with Bilstein HD, but decided to go this route. I hope I made the right decision, :dunno:

Haven't gotten to it yet :-/

I buddy installed a set on his 540i and said it took him about 3hrs, but I'm sure a lift would be way faster.

I don't know how to deflate the bags, but the other buddy who installed his on his X5 is sending me some Romanian software to adjust the self-leveling system and then custom made links. I went with whatever they're standard offering was for rates.

I am not sure about the spring rates, but this is what I am getting. Amazon.com: BC Racing BR Series Coilovers 00-06 BMW X5 - E53: Automotive.

I got mine for the same price, just make sure they send you the free adjusters for the rear.

I'm on the fence about doing the compete suspension rebuild from FCP Groton while I'm at it for $1000.

What are the stock rates? This is all I can find on Google - Tuning Developments. You posted on another thread about you having "extreme drop" but I didn't see that option, so I bought the set like the ones posted on the Amazon link.

Per your own thread, I thought you did the stock offering from BC of 9 front / 12 rear?

That was the original plan but they told me I would need stiffer springs beecause of rub. Just a little update, my driver side axle snapped because of the angle it was on due to lowering. Had it repllaces with a remanufactured one. Mine were ooriginal with 125k on them. Not saying it's going to happen to you but just a little fore warning.

Regards to deflating the rear bags, you have to deflate if you install the coils I just disconnected the lines on the top of the bags and removed the fuse for the air suspension system . im also planning to do a universal air suspension bag over coil system to get maximum lowzzz . just have to figure out the clearance issues because of the width of the bags
