If 2014 maps are not out they will be soon. If you purchase from Ebay, look for discs that are not copies as some have had problems with pirated versions.

I looked for a thread where we discussed how to best burn the firmware to a disc but I couldn't find it. I don't remember for sure but I think it was 2X or maybe 4X. Seems to me the slower the better and burn it to a very good disc.

FYI- If you don't have the MKIV you might want to check out the features before investing further in the MKIII.

Any tips on how to proceed once I get the file downloaded? Put it in laimen's terms for me please. I know to burn it to a disc, but any setting I should be aware of before burning?

Also, is there any procedure to installing once I get the disc written? I've read tons of posts where people had their NAV system deemed useless after trying to update. I don't want that happening. So any advice you guys can give would be greatly appreiciated.

Brandon,

The link that Quicksilver posted (the person you were being an ass to) has step by step instructions on how to install the new nav software. So before you go off on someone who tried to help you, maybe you should take a minute and try to figure out the problem (especially when the link provided has the answer).

You need to burn to a very high quality disc and preferably at 1x. 2x max. Found this out the hard way…multiple burns until I finally slowed it down and used a HQ disc.
