Thanks but I'm still not able to get it seated correctly. Everything I adjust the the position of the door handle, I still get the bolt sitting to the left. Please see the image. The red dot is where the bolt should be.

I pulled the door handle out a bit and was able to push the lock "tumbler" up a bit but it becomes really hard to screw in.

Is that the correct bolt? On the video that I posted the bolt has a taper end so that it will center the bolt in the hole. Your bolt looks like a regular bolt. I know that BMW use self centering bolts throughout the car.

Yep, that's the bolt that came with the door handle assembly.

Ok, so something isn't right... You never answered where the carrier came from. Is that an OE BMW carrier or not?

The way that it looks, even thought you said you've checked numerous times, I still don't think that carrier is in correctly... If you are 110% sure, pull the carrier out and compare the old one to the new one and see if they are the same.

Came with the new door handle assembly or is it the old bolt?

Looks like you brought a Cheap after market assembly. If you did, my advice will be to dump it and buy a Genuine BMW replacement carrier.

It isn't BMW, it's URO parts. Comparing the two, they look fair identical. With the carrier off the door, I'm able to fit the lock tumbler just fine. It seems it doesn't align correctly with the lock actuator.

I'm using the new bolt that came with the door assembly. It's a URO brand. I bought URO brand in the past and never really had any issues.

Try using the old screw.

Yea, I'll give that a shot when I get home tonight.

Are there anymore advice? I'm open to any suggestions.

Thanks!

I thought someone on here with an aftermarket door carrier had to drill a hole bigger on the carrier to make it fit ,but don`t quote me on this .I do a lot of reading so I could get things mixed up lol. I read in case if I have a problem down the road or help someone out if I can.

TwinTurboGTR 02-17-2014 12:47 PM

Hmmmm... URO parts are a hit and miss fitment wise. Putting in the original screw isn't going to help bc the screw itself isn't misaligned, the hole is.

If I were you, I would remove the carrier and really compare the two. Not by eye, but with a tape measure. Something is off and if it isn't your placement, then it is your part.
