I have installed Fumotos on Ford 7.3L diesel trucks [2], very valuable there because of the frequency of changes [with dino oil, usually Rotella] and volume [nearly 16 qts] of oil. This is why I asked whether the drain plug on our 3.0L M54s is inset [and on the side?], if inset, I'll need the adapter. I can't remember what it was on my E36 6, where I never installed a Fumoto. Its a well made and very handy device if you change your own.

The Fumoto WILL NOT work. At least for me , it did not, The length of it kept on hitting the reinforcement plate if I recall. I still have the one I ordered with no success somewhere in my stash

Back at the diesel performance shop i worked at we used to sell the Fumotos like they were going out of business. Theyre definatly handy, never used one myself but may be worthwhile.

I think you misunderstand. So far there hasn't been real anger though I am at the point of disgust which is getting close.

My message to you---I think you can easily be far more respectful of the forum and the members, of yourself and the products you represent. I would like you to seriously consider the input that your approach, even if within the forum guidelines, may be seriously flawed.

Yes, my comments are always off topic simply because there is never a time it will be the topic of a thread as that would not be fair to you. Any time I have responded to you or a post of yours it has been done reluctantly and accepting it is shame on both of us.

I have said all I have to say and more than I should have said. I will leave it in the hands of the moderators. I apologize to any OP that has been offended by either of us. And apologize to anything that has offended you.

I would be happy to accept your friend request if it can be done with mutual respect.

Which e53 X5 do you have 3.0/4.4/4.6/4.8? For my 06 4.4...Fumoto recommends the ADP-109 adapter due to the recess of the oil pan/bolt area.

Bcredliner, i appreciate the appology, i really dont mean disrespect there just seemed to be alot of confusion regarding my intentions. I am here to try to help as much as i can and support the forums, but i do run a business and if i recommend a product it is because i believe it may help, depending on the issue MAYBE fix it. Im sorry as well, not here to make any enemies, just make some friends and hopefully get some business as well. Also if there was any point where it seemed as if i was bashing you or discrediting your advice and input, that was not my intention. You have been around BMWs longer then i have, same with JCL, RB etc so all of your advice and input is definatly valued. I would like to be friends, and dont get me wrong i do respect you and others here on the forums. Everyone here is very helpful and i know il be counting on advise from everyone here if i have any issues with my X.

Who the hell pays some jockey to change their oil for them anyway? It's so simple, paying a guy for a drain, fill, and filter change seems so feminine to me

Riggo I posted the pic of the oil pan you will need the fumoto adapter on our cars

First, let me say that I agree with you as to the simplicity of changing the oil yourself (with the N62 being slightly less simple with the oil filter being underneath the vehicle)...then there's the satisfaction that comes from doing it yourself...knowing that the O-rings, drain plug and filter/reservoir lid is torqued correctly...and we can't forget the cost savings, too. :)

But some owners aren't as lucky as having the tools and/or space to safely perform an oil change. If you live in an urban environment and you're relegated to having to find a parking spot somewhere on your block...or live in an apartment complex and have no storage space for oil changing equipment or safe space to elevate the car and change the oil without other residents running over you legs while you're underneath the vehicle...one may find that its just best to take it to a vendor that changes oil...even though the procedure is simple.

For the reasons above (and a few more)...I wouldn't snatch a guy's "man card". :D
