Oil plug broke, grr

Well, apparently it had a crack in it from the last oil change when I let the idiots at Mr. Lube change my oil. It was a bear to take off, and apparently it clean broke when I went to tighten it. Going to have to re-tap it. :( Any tips?

That blows. If you couldn't drill it out and the threads on the pan are shot, it would bother my OCD so much I'd just put a new pan on the car

Tap and die my friend, some Amsoil (not really just wanna see who throws a sissy fit). Honestly if you dont want to bother with it until your next OC, RTV the plug (you could use threadlocker but itll be one helluva party gettin it off) and cover the sh*t out of it with aluminium tape or gorilla tape. Teflon tape might work as well.

The oil plug is hollow so if and when if breaks you can insert a hex head socket and lefty loosy it off. Mine broke last oil change.

I just bought a couple of new ones. One to put in at this oil change. One as a spare.

Managed to get the sucker out. Tapped, and put in a new bolt. Took an hour to get the hood open to refill the oil, but still waiting for the new cable, which should get here today. So that, and the rear hatch actuator are next, then the PS reservoir.

Lesson learned, do not take your car to Mr. Lube...

Life time oil same as life time ATF.
