Bema says they've done nothing wrong and that the head's eccentric shaft warped when bolted on. That's their story and they are sticking too it. I've been watching wreckers for a 4.8 engine to bolt these heads to, to determine if Bema is right or full of shit. I just pulled the covers off the top and checked the valve return hoses. Guess what I found. There is so much crud that a little water actually poured out of the hose that is from bank 1 going to the top of the manifold.

Well, Bema service guy said it had to be bolted to a block to warp. So I bought a block from Germany, new gaskets, and head studs and had an independent shop put it all together. Everything rolls fine. Called the warranty company rep I've been dealing with. He asked me why I would go through all this trouble. "Because flat surface bolted to flat surface does cause warp-age. That, and spite" He the laughed and is actually a lot more interested that I could have hoped for. Phoned the shop it's at and is getting a bunch of info from them. The block had 1 scored wall, so it was cheapish. Got a really good price on the oem gaskets too. Think it was $50 for both gaskets. Small price to pay to rub a dealers face in the mess they made.
