I personally like the summertime Christmas lights on the house behind in the first picture. Looking good down in Texas.

As if the 3.0 is a hugely powerful vehicle to begin with? Get what looks good, any performance loss on the 3.0 is negligible because there isn't a ton to start with, these aren't Porsche's people.

Been running 20" staggered 168's for 2.5 years now and haven't looked back, the looks alone changed the vehicle 10x over. I also have the stick which helps with my acceleration but I wouldn't hesitate to put 20" staggered wheels on any E53.

+1

Ran 20" replicas on my 3.0 for over 4 years. I did have the advantage of running my OE 4.8is wheels, the replicas below, and my stock 18's all in the same week. (This is what happens when you find yourself with 2 E53's for a little while) No added maintenance items for the ~50k miles I ran them. The comments about added stress simply didn't pan out to real world experience.

The difference between all three was noticeable, but the reduction of sidewall in the replica 20's provided me a handling dynamic that I felt was worth the added weight. And they look *good* on a 3.0.

They are better than Porsches. I test drove a Cayenne with the VR6 and 6 speed and it felt slower than the 3.0

You forgot to put it in "entry mode" or picture mode:cool:
I suspect you have EHCII?

You're right... running 275/40/20's up front and 315/35/20's out back. Toyo Proxes...

I don't think I have any kind of Electronic Height Control (is that what EHC stands for?). I am not sure, but perhaps the vehicle was converted from air? I haven't gotten under it or had a look at anything underneath yet, except at the front. Going to do bushings and ball joints on the front arms. Anything I could look for to easily tell? I don't see any buttons on any consoles for ride height control.

Yep, they never take em down. Neighbors, what can you do? :dunno: Thanks for the compliments. Most seem to like the setup. LOL and most importantly, my wife and I love them.

:iagree: As long as the near the same diameter is maintained by choice of tires to go with them there will not be that much difference in acceleration. Nothing is going to go boom because of the change. Choose what you like and enjoy.

Hi OP, what did you end up choosing for rims/wheels combo, curious? I too am in the same hunt now. I do love the style 132 look.
My apologies for hijacking ur thread but i have a few ?,
I have the 2005 3.0 style 131 18" if i put on the style 132 on, would i need any mods such as hub rings or new bolts/lugs? I'm thinking i do not since its the same E53. just want to confirm.

Also, works has been kicking my butt and havn't had the chance to get new tire for one wheel, is it ok to drive with the spare 17" rim/wheel for a few days w/o doing harm?
thanks for your time.:dunno:

But you gotta take care of the oil spills on the driveway too you know?:nanana::D

Your sure they are 20's? I only ask because someone on Craigslist was selling a set and I kept asking for pics of the tires to confirm and he wouldn't do it
