I never involve myself in conversations like this, because I hate confrontation. I love this forum for the fact that it rarely/never happens. Don't make me leave. The longer a thread like this gets dragged out, the worse somebody's name gets mudded, and nobody wants that. Appreciate each other for what we contribute...

I'm the same way. It's a bit crazy to me. I'm also in a custom home theater forum, you wouldn't BELIEVE the p!$$!ng matches that go on over things like room correction and the price of speaker cable.

Can you imagine the conversations in a wine forum with snobby wine broads?

I'm laughing to myself thinking about that one....

LOL

You guys.

Do the amber bulbs light frequency get carried through the rings better or something? White LED bulbs in an e39 or e53 light tubes look dim as all get out...

Its the optics of the E39/E53 rings, you will get NO ADDITIONAL BRIGHTNESS compared to stock its been discussed a million times, you will just get a crisper light output/color.

If you want additional brightness out of the rings you need to crack the housings open and replace the actual rings themselves.

Yeah, I figured, and am well aware of the light tube's limitations... talked with you about cracking open these permaseals.

Just seemed like these ambers were brighter, but as usual with lighting mod pics... it's usually just the way the photo turns out. Have to admit those ambers do look pretty cool. Still going to do mine white... but going to say those do look good.

Oh yeah now I remember, either way I wish you luck, these housings are no joke to open, I have only seen two members that have been opened without cutting.

I had one headlight that was permasealed. I got it opened without cutting. It was not fun but it can be done with lots of patience and time. In retrospect the upgrade of the headlights and the really bright angel eyes were well worth the effort.
