Just trying to determine which one folks on here have used with success. |
Isn't the ride height set within the system, regardless of the 0 point set position. Going through the system within the last month, I found that if you set the 0 point to a different position, the system will automatically readjust to the factory height.
How do you guys trick the system to have a lower standard ride height? Do t you have to code it in? |
I've set zero point a bunch of times and yes it settled a bit after a few times but it stays set if you set both axles where you want them.

I'm going to have to go a different route, 1-1.25" is not enough for wat I'm looking for. Here's a pic of my x5 that I photoshopped and the look I'm trying to achieve.

I basically rode at the height you photoshopped for a good while, till i moved to long island and with the roads and jerking around i raised it up a lil...
To get the rears as you have them photoshopped will not happen unless you get a camber kit which im not even sure at that height will even it out, and much larger spacers then 30mm. Heres mine at that with 25/30 spacer setup http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...62cff19174.jpg Anyways with the issues and technicalities you will run into i can right a book about X thing happens and what X Solution to use.. Ive messed around, tested different heights, rode on them, figured out what needs to be done etc i can safely say ive easily spent probably over 100 hours the past year messing with it.. One main thing is riding at the lowered heights is to make sure the front struts and rear bags are all leak/slowleak etc free.. I had a slight very very slow leak in my left one for a good while and you would need to whip out the comp and readjust it every few days. Now that i have all that settled i have set my new height a good 1.5/2 months ago without doing anything. At lower heights you will lose the capability to put it in access height or offroad height even though the light and system is all active. If you do press it to offroad it will not come down to the ride height you had it set as previously but will stop at a higher height and the rear axle and front axle may not be in level anymore. This is how i roll now and it is the best compromise between still retaining good feel on road and curvy roads with unevenness, on the really low height above ripping it up on corners and roads w imperfections is shitty feel of car because it will bottom out in front if theres too many things going on, on road surface one after the other. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...e6f5e59248.jpg http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...c64386664b.jpg http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...bbc122e6ee.jpg |

X54.8IS yea at that height that I have it photoshopped and the wheel sticking out that much it's gonna be rubbing all over the place. About the wheels not even out, not quite sure wat u mean? if you mean they're gonna have negative camber I'm not too worry about it, the x5 only sees about 1000 miles a year. I know, tires are expensive. I've been researching on other forums and talked to a local shop here in Chicago land area and they might be able to fit airbags on a set of coilovers. Just like the factory set up is but instead with coilovers. There's a guy that has a stanced out nsx and is running airbellows with coilovers. So I will be able to achieve that stance and whenever I'm driving over inflate a bit up just enough not to rub. I will post updates just not sure when at this time because of course I wanna get this done right if u can say there's a right way of going that low and the wheels cambered out. Btw your X5 looks clean simple.
