Look more carefully. It is a "sealed" box with 5 fuses inside. Also check the pre-fuses that are on the top of the battery. Seeing your cooling fan code it is either bad fan regulator or pre-fuse blown.

Thank you so much! The fan is actually out of the car at the moment but I will check these fuses anyhow, thank you so much again! |
Ok so I found the bad fuse all the codes are now off except one, and previously there were no codes related to this active tank temperature sensor which I understand is inside the tank.... I will say the part on top of the tank is damaged so I assume this would be the cause, however that didn't send any codes the temp sensor did...
Anybody have any kind of suggestions? There's zero impact on the tank itself so in hoping I don't have to replace it... http://s15.postimg.org/hml4la0sn/image.jpg http://s12.postimg.org/bskz7jknd/image.jpg |
So there was adequate damage to crush/tear/short/etc the wires while powered?
Id look at everything on both ends of the wires. |
Well all the wires are fine now, I am under the impression it may be the damaged part I took a photo of? If not I'll be out almost another $1000 from my research... Hopefully there's some sort of alternative

I have taken some measures of the sensors, you can find in this thread:
http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...forensics.html You may be the right guy to install a resistor or thermistor and fix the problem. |

Was it shorted when the wiring harness was damaged? |

The only plausible answer is yes it was shorted during impact. There were zero CEL lights on before the crash... |
