It was a 10k resistor and I believe 50k thermistor neither of them worked

50k won't work. If the specs. for the 10k sensor are ntc, 10k @25c that should work.

That should work. Did you clear the codes before testing?

Yes I cleared the codes. And the CEL turns off but the code does not clear, it immediately returns on startup
