Awesome, thanks for the reply... Any chance of being more specific than under the floor?

I didnt have time to look in ISTA tonight, but it must be somewhere around the rear subframe.

Follow-up to my post above:
I went two days after my appt where they replaced the TPMS Module, and the second day I did get another TPMS Malfunction message. So, the new module did not solve it. Back to the dealer... |
My TPMS continues to randomly and sporadically give TPMS MALFUNCTION WARNING .
This can happen once a week or 20 times in a row on a long trip - very annoying. Dealer says its not the sensors in wheels getting low on battery, that would give show a error code in the log, I have none. They replaced the "TPMS" module last year, no effect. I had them look at it again over xmas and they could not (did not take the time to) solve it. Getting pissed off, is there any easier way to turn off this malfunction warning? My only other options are to pay for them to find the (presumed) loose wire, or code the system to ignore (sounds like OP went this way). |
Anyone know the location of the TPMS controller/Antenna in a 2011 X5? This seems to be post 10/10 build, so newer style. I pulled the plastic cover/trim under the driver and couldn't find it. Mine is throwing TPMS Malfunction and reset is not available.

Good luck, would love to find more info too.

I watched a youtube video where the guy opened up the sealed plastic box on the Antenna/controller and there was water corrosion inside on the little circuit board. If I could find it, I'd like to see if mine is like that. I also found there is a newer part number. Maybe better sealed?

If you find it let us know where pls?
