Good thing all this is, is an opinion. I've had many compliments on how the 265/60/18 Goodyear Duratracs make this look to be more manly and capable instead of a soccer mom car.

You mean like your ford truck?

Its a truck. It rides like a truck, drives like a truck and handles like a truck and its loud and obnoxious and annoys the stuff shirts at the golf course. That's what it was made to do, and tow the boat.

But Like I said. To each his own. Not my taste but hey if you're happy, then that's all that matters.

Good advice Proflyer, those were my first thoughts, unfortunately storage space played a factor in the decision. Btw I always take the back way to Breck, less traffic, similar conditions. As for the other comments,"Never take fashion advice from a friend", the 265s will look great, thanks for the pics Lambeau, thats the look/function I am going for.

Depends on where you're at in town i guess. No reason to go all the way to 285 for me and either way you have to go over Vail pass unless you want to go the really long way through Leadville/Minturn. Helps having a place and going up Friday night as well.

Compliments are fully deserved. That looks sweet!

Ok, moving on, my next question is, should I order new TPMS modules, or just go with the rebuilds? Oh, and for those fashion conscious X5 owners, I was thinking of getting the orange ones. ;)

Hey All, Update on the tire swap. Unfortunately the 265/60R18 did not fit when I used my stock 8.5x18 et46 rims. The tire guys said the rubbed, so they put the old ones back on before I could take measurements. So now I need to look at spacers or new wheels, either is a good option for me. Does any one have any insights on how i can measure to see if a new wheel and tire combo will work? A quick search shows a 9.5x18 et30 might help. Better yet, can any one recommend a good tire shop in the Denver/Colorado Springs area that i can work with to test fit various offset combinations? These tires look so cool, I have to make them work... and to prevent the wife's "I told you saw".
