Simple install really. I raised the seat all the way, unplugged the mat and plugged in the new emulator. I did ziptie it to the underpinnings of the seat so I wouldn't have rattles. Took all of 5-7 minutes and now I don't have that annoying light or gong every time I start it up. Been 100% for almost a year now.

So this is tricking you car into thinking that the seat is not occupied even when it is? In the world of advanced airbags, an occupancy sensor is a function I want working.

Hopefully BMW built some redundancy into their system to realize a passenger when the seat belt is in use.

Drive safe

No, it isn't telling the system the seat is empty, it is saying that it is occupied at all times. When you don't use one of these devices and the airbag light is on, the default for the car is that the seat is occupied too.

This device just eliminates the airbag light without compromising the airbag's function. So if you're in an accident and no one is in the passenger seat, the passenger airbag will still deploy as if someone was sitting there. Unlike a fully functioning mat that will not deploy the airbag if the passenger seat is empty.

There you go, thanks for the clarification

Quick update I received my bypass from Lithuania but it did not work :( I cleared it with rheingold and tried 3 different settings on the dip switches inside the module and no luck :( I did notice my dome light that reads" passenger air bag off " was lit unlike prior to installing the bypass . Any ideas -_- still have airbag and seat belt warning lit

Not sure if this is how it works in this car, but you could measure ohm resistance on your matt sensor and compare it to the emulator. Even better... one of us could measure what resistance a working matt sensor should give out.

that way you can rule out the matt sensor and start working upstream.

So I haven't seen any difference yet still have the annoying error I removed the bypass and put everything back to normal can anyone PM some software or something to clear the light with my kcan cable I'm not having much luck with rheingold thanks guys

I also have my passenger airbag recall appointment soon and don't want the dealer to ask me about he light or delay my recall because of it
