Doubt it.

Quick update guys! Since my car came with after marker tv head rests from previous owner i for some reason ended up removing my driver and passenger covers and noticed they cut the head restraint plug and spliced a resistor on both sides , very Mickey Mouse was not even soldered just barely making contact . I went a head and spent 45 mins soldering the resistors and making sure good contact is made I then went a head and covered them with electrical tape I then went on rheingold and tried to clear the faults and no changes air bag and seat belt light still on, when I first got the car I remember the airbag and seat belt light where on but I cleared it and it went away I didn't think much later till now any ideas? The battery is about 6 months old but I might replace it again since my error on rheingold comes up as (POWER SUPPLY crash safety module) ( no communication possible with: safety module / restraint system ) also no communication with driver seat module but my power seats and everything else works . Is it possible the resistors are shot and went bad from age . I just want the airbag light off at this point along with the seat belt light.

when you clear the air bag light does it at least blink off momentarily?

In my z4 i was not able to access/clear the air bag modules with INPA (even tho I was able to do it once before) maybe as cars age INPA is not as effective. i had to buy creator c310 and then I was able to clear the light fine.

it supports e70 so it might work for you

if that air bag light is not clearing you are gonna go nuts trying to figure it out. the fault might not even be present anymore.

Dude thanks for relplying wow you might be right anyways the air bag light blinks for 1 second and goes back on and stays lit after clearing it but Eather way right away it's back maybe it's not clearing I guess rheingold isn't doing it for me :( but I'm also thinking of getting new resistors since who ever Mickey Moused it probably used wrong resistors ? What do u think any other programs I can download and clear wit the kcan dcan cable

Now that I recall... the SRS related fault is stored in multiple modules. So if you just clear say the "satellite pillar left", but not the "satellite pillar Right" module the fault will remain forever as they automatically have a way to re-propagate.

Creator c310 lets you read each module and see what errors are present.

here is my detailed post and resolution about the subject.

Additionally the reader will tell you things like "resistance too high front airbag left" or "resistance too Low" THATS how you figure out what resistor to use and where.

I do not believe INPA or Rheingold will give you this level of detail.

Gotcha so if I follow the instructions on inpa you posted will I be able to clear it? Or should I download another software that I can use my k+dcan inpa cable aswell

Also do you suggest I go try new resistors since before the light would clear and now it's just on all the time, trying to avoid the c310 :(

unfortunately unless you can find a way to access individual modules with INPA or Rheingold or Icarly you are gonna need the c310

INPA as it is generally speaking does not even work on e70.

If have c310 so i can go plug it in my car to see if we are on the right track. If I am able to see multiple SRS modules then at least you know you are gonna need it.

what INPA does is it gives you 1 globalized code from all modules. what you need now is to go into each module and clear it to be 100% the fault is not persistent.

Triying different resistors works when you are getting some feedback from the reader. how will you know if it's too much resistance or no resistance or open circuit? these is the info the c310 gives you.

You sold me :) I'm gonna order one on eBay 50.00$ but will have to wait for it to arrive :( I'm still gonna go ahead and solder 2 new resistors people who have changed after market head rests used Metal Film 0.6W 2.2k Ohm Resistor , im sure who ever did the head rests on my e70 used whatever they thought works

Just to update I purchased the creator c310+ . 45$ free shipping hope it's the same as the c310
