it looks great! can't wait to see what bmw comes up with to beat the cayenne turbo s and the ml63...the only thing that may have to grow on me are the wheels.........maybe it's just me, but they look like a 5 petal hibiscus flower

I like the technology, love the interior, i'm lukewarm on the exterior. It looks too low to me, more like a wagon than a "truck"....

I like it a lot, almost thought about trading in my '04...until I started looking at things closer. No temperature gauge, no battery voltage gauge (not that they had it on the E53, but would be nice), stupid ass joystick for a shifter (it's not even ergonomically designed to fit the palm of your hand), no handbrake, just to name a few. Push buttons for everything??? Push to start the car, push to put the car in park, push to shut off the car? I can almost smell a lawsuit coming when some dim-wit (with comfort access) just stops the car and forgot to push PARK, forgot to push the OFF button and just walks off with the engine running and car in gear (and keys in pocket)!

Everything that BMW had done just made it a bit less of a "driver's car", IMHO. It's providing answers to questions that nobody asked. I WANT some useful infomation/gauges, not just a bunch of electro-do-da to take me away from the driving experience. There are just too damn freaking much electronics that need not be there...this is saying something when it's coming from an EE! I don't want to even know if Microsoft got involved in any of their softwares/firmwares. Well...I guessed BMW just lost a future customer :(

According to What Car?, the MPG is better by 18% over the existing 3.0i at 25.9 (versus 22.2 - for a manual box!). New Consumption for the diesel is 32.4 mpg, which is slightly worse to the 32.8 quoted on BMW's uk website.

Can't wait for BMW to bring diesel to US.

The heck with the car, what WHEELS will they have for this thing?! a 20" relative of the 132 perhaps? One can dream...

Too bad the E53's resale value is dropping fast.

Did I miss it somewhere, but I still haven't seen anything about the NAV having RTTI (real time traffic info)? The new e92s will have it, so I'd be really shocked that the e70 wouldn't.

Also, no mention of the Pano roof and what differences the US version will have (ie, amber deflectors)?
