Picked my 07' 4.8i for $500 over invoice. Happy as a pig in Georgia!

Just drove to the closest Ferrari dealer and picked out my favorite color 599 from the 20 or so they had on the lot. They said I could pay invoice and told me to "pay whenever I felt like it, or not!"

I went to Shumdit BMW and I paid MSRP because nobody pays less than that! In fact, at Shumdit BMW, people pay over MSRP because nobody in their right mind would give anybody a deal on a new X5. It's just not possible!

Why is $500 over invoice unrealistic for an '07?

Its a new car from an owners viewpoint but will be a year old in ~ 8 weeks for valuation/trade-in purposes. I would expect any year end model to be deeply discounted.

Ahhh...Shumdit, you just never stop, do you? I never said I paid less than invoice and I never said I didn't pay more than $500 over. Please get your facts straight. Just admit it, you're jealous that I got a better deal than you.

You don't have to say it. Since the 2008 4.8 only has roughly $4300 profit at MSRP for the base model and around $5500-6000 if you got every option possible, to get $5K off means you either paid less than invoice or very slightly more. There's my straight facts you asked for in your last post. Now, regarding my jealousy:

I paid $53200.00 for a 07 with 934 miles that had a sticker of $68K and change due to the unfortunate passing of a Mr. Bill France Jr. (of Nascar legend). It was his son Brian's (now the head honco) car and since Brian was relocating back to the East Coast he no longer needed cars in both places. Call it right place at the right time. It was the correct color combo and the only things wrong with it (for my needs) was that it needed the 20" 214 style wheels (which I added for $2355 brand new with tires) and I did not really need the 3rd row seat, but have actually used it a few times and it's not a bad option to have). The difference between you and me is that I can prove what I am claiming.

While it's possible you also got some sort of deal, I think there is more to the story if the numbers are correct, and more than likely the numbers are not correct, which is why I "never stop". Ball is in your court!
