Now, I consider that as a worthy design:
Just in case parking in a crowded or spaceless place or someone parked very close to you, keeping the side mirrors folded until getting to a "safe" place is beneficial.

i fold the mirros while waiting in traffic lights if i see motor bikes trying to squeaze in

Why don't all of the models have painted bumpers and trim. Its frankly ridiculous it might as well be a saturn.

Because people have the choice of painted or 'less' painted. If you live in NYC, it would be wise to choose the one with less paint.

This way all those who complain there is a good reason to upgrade to the M-Sport or Aero kit. Kinda makes good marketing sense, to appeal to the largest market possible. This way for those on a tighter budget can still afford an X while those that have the extra $$ can pony up and upgrade.

Besides, the bumper provides great constrast for lighter exteriors with the aero kit. :)

Related - on our first distance drive [with the ventilated/comfort seat options] the wife spent the better part of ONE HOUR fiddling with her passenger seat settings. I couldn't resist commenting once she stopped adjusting, "honey dearest, this is a SUV, not a GD carnival ride!"
