The squeaky driver side window every time I roll it up. It's been there since the first day I got the car. Already been to the dealer twice and changed new parts but the noise is still there.

I am just starting to get a tailgate or cargo cover rattle. Right now its seldom and rather quiet. I hope it stays no more than that.

One annoyance is the climate controls. On the surface they should be no different previous 5 series, etc. But Charlotte spring weather changes from 40 degree mornings to 75 degree sunny afternoons. Even keeping it on 73 degrees and auto doesn't work. Its a multi step process to change the driver vent temp, the passenger vent temp, and then press auto again. I repeat that each morning and each afternoon.

Seeing as how I have the same weather. :)

Working well for me so far. I see what you mean - it's hard to get it perfect unless the outside temperature is more stable.

But coming from the Lexus, it's a huge improvement. It could heat well, but the AC would constantly turn my fingers and other parts numb - not much of an in between.

At least the BMW doesn't do that, even if it may be a bit chilly at times. I don't have to fiddle with it much. It also does a good job keeping it fog-free at all times (a little will build up but not bad).

When I was looking at buying, I was worried it would not be able to cool well enough. NOOOO - that's not a problem. :)

The most annoying thing so far - at 11K miles - is the interface.

Specifically, two things..

It's dumb that the seat climate controls don't have LEDs on their own to show how hot / cold it is. Other models can do this. Other manufacturers can do this. WTF?

Now, this would not itself be a problem, really. Except it shares something in common with Major Complaint #2..

If I go into reverse, of course, the backup camera comes on. However, if I do anything else - turn on the seat A/C, set a destination, etc. - it flips to THAT display, leaving me blind while trying to reverse.

(and no, if I knew how to do this 'manually' anymore, I wouldn't need a backup camera!)

Seems like there should be a "display priority." If you're parking or backing up, you should not interfere with that, in my opinion.

What's more, if it's interrupted - such as to set a destination - it will NOT go back to parking / reversing view. I have to hit the "P" button to turn it off, then turn it back on again. Dumb. I doubt it's even worth complaining about - Germans never admit to making mistakes.

One of those pesky passengers is always fiddling with the seat climate at exactly the moment I need them not to do that. Highly irritating.

Oh.. And that rattling noise it makes from a cold start (though you can only hear it outside of the vehicle). I still can't figure out what that is, and I know I'm not alone.

I would complain about the disturbing sensation of a sudden loss of power when I try to accelerate from a stop into a turn, but that may just be me.

anyone ever experience the window going in the wrong direction? When I roll both front windows up using 2 fingers, one of them sometimes goes down instead - it will go up for a split second that auto-down. This has to be a bug.

damn that still happens to your newer vehicles?

The other thing you mentioned - I have something similar... when I want to set a nav destination, I do so, then shift to reverse to back up - the camera comes on... is NAV still trying to find the route or is that delayed until the rear camera is off? I think it's the latter. Might not be an issue with your harddrive navs though.

On behalf of myself and all other drivers, I ask that you please do not do other things, such as setting a destination, while reversing.

Thanks.

And why does he need the nav to show the route when in reverse? Oh please, don't tell me he's driving backwards!!

lol... the reason I want it to find the destination as I back out is because the DVD nav takes a long time to find a route and the highways aren't that far away. I don't need it to show the route, just finish calculating it. If it's showing the camera, please at least continue doing the calculation. I guess I'll have to test this. I just don't want to have to be on my way forward at 20mph before the camera shuts off, then wait another minute for the thing to tell me which route is best given traffic conditions. I've never had it finish calculating by the time the camera turns off.

It makes sense in practical use, a bit silly when describing it. My main complaint here is the slow nav and cumbersome camera I suppose.

Interior, exterior, driving performance, maintenance or........

Getting in and out (overstepping the side rails). Starting to "fade" the edge of my seat from all the rubbing.

The "exterior" annoyance is a lack of turbo. Not that it's needed with wife & little me in the car, but since its' STANDARD now ... kinda sucs.

RVAS69. Why don't you mention it the next time your car is in service. Maybe they can replace the opener.

or you can try this:

(no idea if this works. But it's a funny/cool post)

Oh yes. I had forgotten about that one.

My Lexus, same thing.. Could open it several houses away.

This one? I have to be on top of the garage to open it. And often it won't go on the first try. Really irritating. Embarrassing, even (if the neighbors are watching. and they do watch)

Also the fact that it doesn't work when the vehicle is powered down. Every other car I ever owned would operate the garage door when turned off. I don't even care why - I know this beast consumes unholy amounts of power to drive all of it's cool little things, but still.
